1 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

: the contact stated the airbag light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealership who determined the airbag module needs to be replaced. However the airbag would deploy without a new airbag module.

2 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Rain water leaking in underneath dash into passenger floor board somehow shorting out the airbag system. Have heard of other Impalas having same problem. Has been a continuos problem since a couple months after purchase from dealer. Asked dealer about this problem and they want to charge lots of money to "leak test" it but denied any kind of factory defect or design flaw. Have searched internet and found quite a few other poeple with same car having similar problems. Havent had money to correct problem.

3 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Consumer complained about an air bag problem. Air bag light stayed on. Consumer contacted the manufacturer, who told consumer that because the vehicle had 68,000 miles and was out of warranty and there was nothing else they could do. . Serial request 1264681108. 4 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 08/11/2004

The horn was inoperative. The consumer tried numerous times to activate the horn. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection. The mechanic informed the consumer that the computer sensor needed to be replaced. Please provide further details. The air bag sensor failed which caused the horn to be inoperative. The lock cylinder had to be replaced because the consumer was unable to start the vehicle.

5 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 08/28/2003

Air bag sensor light continiously comes on and off. Has had the sensor reset when I purchased the vehicle and approx. 2 weeks after the sensor light for air bag was reset it started coming on again. The dealership charged $300. 00 to reset the light. I cannot afford to pay such an excessive fee continuously.

6 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Air bag light blinks and then stays on. Afraid air bags will deploy while driving or not deploy if involved in accident.

7 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

The air bag light illuminated on the vehicle, the dealer replaced the air bag sensor.

8 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2001

Air bag sensor light remained on while driving. Vehicle been in dealer shop on two occasions, and problem still occurring. Consumer states airbag was a replacement.

9 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 08/20/2000

Air bag sensor light will come on and off while driving. Contacted dealership, they indicated that air bag unit needed to be replaced due to the premature deployment or no deployment at all in an accident. The consumer feels that the air bag is defective.
