Suspension Noise problems of the 2000 Chevrolet Impala

1 Suspension Noise problem

Failure Date: 11/29/2001

Clunking noise in front end, feels loose. Dealer checked and verified that snapping feeling in the steering wheel, remove intermediate shaft from inspection for proper lube, will require shaft lube, not currently available, there is a soft audible clunk in front end not felt through the steering wheel during parking lot test drive, inspect front suspension craddle , old style welds, ordered front craddle, ordered grease kit, waiting for information regarding cradle replacement.

2 Suspension Noise problem

Failure Date: 06/06/1999

When driving on certain road conditions, at slower speeds, there is an abnormal noise coming from the front suspension. The problem was reported to Chevrolet and the dealership. The dealer could not correct this problem. Chevrolet has other reports of this problem. The abnormal noise is a loud thump as if there is a loose part in the suspension.
