After I go back and forth between my bright headlights and regular all of a sudden my headlights shut off it happens after so many times going between them.
Chevy Impala lights don't work at night daytime lights work off and on high beams at night only.
My turning signals work on and off all of a sudden. The first time it happened I was on the freeway and was attempting to get over and my right turning signal wouldn't work but the left turning signal worked fine. Then after a day or two the right turning signal would work but then the left turning signal won't work. Then all of a sudden they would both work then both stop working. Now a month has passed and neither one of them work most the time, but will work for a hot second and then stop working. This is only for the rear turning signal though the front turning signal have always worked properly and still do.
Sometimes when im driving and im trying to pass someone and I go to use my signal light they do not work then I can go down the road they will work plus my lights wont go on bright without shutting off.
While driving on interstate 78 at 60 mph I attempted to switch from low beam to high beam. Asi did that, I lost all lights. I jiggled the high beam switch and the lights came back on. This has happened several times since then.
Every time it rains my entire vehicle floor is flooded. My radio has stopped working and my dashboard lights flicker. I have been researching and there are several models with this problem from 2002 to 2005. This happens often and can eventually lead to electrical problems. I pay a lot if money for this vehicle and still have a ways to go before I am done paying for it. I have 3 children that depend in thus car along with myself if there are so many people with this problem this is definitely a defect and should be recalled.
The car will not start no matter hot or cold. Once started the electrical system throws multiple errors, from security, battery, service engine soon, abs light, seat belt light, and brakes. The complete dash board goes dead including all gauges, from the speedometer, fuel and temperature gauge. The warning bell continues to ring as the battery light comes on - it does this continually while driving. Often times it will not start. I have a 6 year old daughter and I am concerned for her safety when this happens. I have put a new batter, new starter and new alternator in this car. Gm knows about the problems and they should be required to re-call these cars and fix the problem.
When the weather is hot, the car will not start. Once started the electrical system throws multiple errors, from security, battery, service engine soon, abs light, seat belt light, and brakes. The radio is locked out and the ac fan runs but will not allow the ac compressor to function. Also the head lights flash and the complete dash board goes dead including all gauges, from the speedometer, fuel and temperature gauge. The warning bell continues to ring as the battery light comes on. This is a could cause a very dangerous situation with no head lights and no working gauges on the dash, and should for some reason the security system shuts the car down while driving, could cause a serious accident. Gm seem to be neglecting this issue, and even gm and their dealerships claim to know nothing about this. Yet in multiple Impala forums, this is the top issue with this vehicle. I would like to see something done about this before someone gets killed, and it is not fair for the consumer to pay thousands of dollars trying to chase this issue down. I just wish american car companies would stand behind their products, especially when the public's safety is in question.
We own a 2003 chevy Impala I purchased it because I thought they were safe vehicles. In the last 2 months we have had multiple issues with traction control and our interior and exterior lighting. We have lost all function to our dash lights our head lights only work when they decide too and my traction control fails to work and when I don't need it engages. . . . . This is not ok! we have had everything checked. All fuses and bulbs are good. We have had diagnostics done a couple of times and nothing ever shows up. I have seen hundreds of complaints about the same stuff. Please tell me nobody has to die or get seriously injured before you make them fix these issues. We all paid a lot for these cars they need to fix them now!!.
When switch is pulled to put on bright lights all lights go off, leaving me driving at night with absolutely no lights. Wiggling, jiggling, or moving the switch eventually puts the low beam lights back on. Had this fixed at a cost to me of more than $600. I purchased this car new and have every service record on it, can prove it was well maintained and not abused. Even have saved failed part from this service. Have seen a vast number of complaints with this same problem listed on web. I was lucky, the next person might not be so lucky. At the very least people who own this make/model need to be made aware of the potential for this to happen. I would not like to see this happen to my grandmother or other loved one.
I just bought a 2003 chevy Impala LS. On my way home I turn on my brights and when I went to shut them off it turned all my lights off and they wont come back on. My lights will only come on when in the brights position and will still shut off occasionally. I have read countless comment by people with the exact same problem in the 15 min I've been online searching this before I stumbled onto this website. There should be a recall on this seeing as driving at night and your lights just randomly shut off that could be very dangerous and potentially deadly if not already!.
Lights just turn off for no reason.
Driving my 2003 Impala at night. Rear seat passenger rolled down window causing the head lights to shut off. Was able to activate bright lights before slowing car. Able to re-created the problems by rolling down the window and having the head lights turn off.
I own a 2003 chevy Impala and while driving at night and when I switch from high beams to low beams my lights go out. . . . Just recently while driving on the expressway, my light just went dark. . . After working the dimmer switch they came by on, this is scary and should be a safety recall .
2003 Impala highbeams when in use do totally go out blinkers just stop blinking after internet research common problem with Impalas which gm won't take responsibility for. They recalled the malibu how many people need to get killed before they take responsibility. No bailout for them. I cannot afford to fix their mistakes. I'm still paying for the car.
The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Impala. While driving various speeds at night, the exterior lighting failed sporadically and the contact would have to manually turn them back on. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact is in the process of notifying the manufacturer. The VIN, engine size, and number of cylinders were unknown. The failure and current mileages were 45,000.
My high beam switch doesn't work in my Impala. My car is either an 02 or 03 and, after looking this up online, im seeing that there are a ton of other complaints. This is very obviously an engineering or negligence issue with the company. When driving at night, on occasion, if I switch my low/high beams, the lights may or may not go completely out. I have to switch them on and off again, maybe a few times, to get them to come back on. This poses a serious safety hazard since it could take a few seconds to get them to come back on.
Got this car new 2003,at 376 miles had brake problems, had it back to dealer 10 or 11 times for same problem,so about every 3-4 months I have to turn rotors or get new one;s+brake pads, also dash lights are out,as the car is out of warranty now, this is the worst car I ever owned ,as I am a retired otr truck driver ,so I dont misuse brakes.
