My car will start sometimes and some.
'engine power reduced', appearing at random times when the vehicle starts stuttering and becoming undrivable.
"takata recall" while on the highway traction alert came on the message states the engine is slowing down and took it to o'reily's and states the sensor codes alerts that will cause my car to fail by shutting down and locking up if its not corrected and to see if there is any recalls on this malfunction.
Brand new batteries die without even driving. New batteries will die instantly.
"service traction control" and then "engine power reduced" alternating on dash often, while driving. My mechanic could only diagnose the throttle pedal sensor was going out. He replaced the pedal. Twice, it continues to be a problem. All mechanics say I have to take it to dealership, I have a feeling this is a rip-off.
Dash says "service traction control" then "engine power reduced" when this first started about 4 months ago, I took the car to my mechanic. He ran a diagnostic and what came up was I needed a "throttle sensor", which meant replacing the gas pedal. He did this. That didn't work so he re-did the pedal. Still getting the service traction control message, with reduced engine power, this happens at random, no one seems to know what the problem is. Now the big problem is- I have to go to the chevy dealership service and pay 150 bucks just for a diagnostic. Which doesn't even go toward solving the problem.
I was traveling on the interstate at about 60 mph going uphill. I did not have it in cruise control. Iwas passing a semi. Suddenly the steering became very difficult, and the brakes seemed hard to push. I finally managed to get the car off the road and stopped. I put in park and got out to check and see if one of the tires had blown out, I left it running. The tires were fine. I got back in and put it in gear and eased down on the gas to see how it was going to go. It did fine, I drove it the rest of the day and it seemed to be normal. I am concerned this could be connected to the ignition recall back in 2014 and worry that it might happen again. My husband is attempting to get it looked at by mechanic.
Vehicle stationary. First of all, car key broke off in the lock. The bottom half is embedded in the lock so the spare key will not go in. Therefore, cannot lock the car at all. Second, left rear door will not open. The child safety lock is not on. Door will not open from the inside or the outside. I transport four seniors to and from church every week, and they have a very hard time getting in and out of the car from the right door only in having to slide so far over. Also, since the car cannot be locked, they cannot leave their things in it for fear of someone taking them. Why OH why didn't chevy put a lock on both of the front doors??.
In December my car while driving, I experienced reduced engine power the speed immediately dropped without warning and the car cut off. I was stuck in the middle of highway traffic praying that we would not be hit when everyone is doing 70 mph. When the reduced power light comes on the engine light comes on along with the traction light. I took the car to the dealership to only be told that they are not 100% sure what the problem is, but I can start by replacing the pcm module and that may or may not fix the problem. I have a problem with a chevy dealership not knowing what is wrong with they cars. Especially a car that is having this problem with so many of its car across the nation. This is a huge safety issue. I have been inconvenience since December as I have not been able to drive my car after having this issue and not feeling confident in $1,000 repair that the dealership themselves are not sure is going to fix the issue. I went to the dealership to get to the root of the problem in hopes of getting a solution and solid plan. I think that gm need to be held accountable for this issue and found a good solid solution to the problem and not guessing fixes to make money. We are talking about people lives are being put in danger. Like I felt mine was when you are in the middle line on a highway, where the speed limit is 70 mph and your car reduce power and then shut down.
My son was driving on the highway and the light "reduced power to engine" goes on and the car stalls. After half hour it started but drove slowly so he was able to get of the highway and we had it towed where some work was done such as some sensors. It worked fine for a couple of weeks and last night it did the same thing. He is in college so he took it to local shop and they can't recreate it and don't know what is wrong. They will try some more sensors but this is a hit or miss which is costing real money. Now we don't know when he will be stranded or if it will ever be fixed. Not very reassuring.
Reduced engine power message came, car stopped suddenly in the street.
Driving home from work and all of a sudden he got the reduced engine power / service traction control alert. . I have an 07 chevy Impala that keeps giving me a "reduced engine power" message, then cuts your power and you can't drive more than about 30 mph. This is so dangerous to have ur power go from 70 mph to 30 this car has been doing this since I purchased 2 years ago this may this has happened 5 times and 2 times I was on the interstate someone is going to get kill I googles this issue and seen hundreds with the same issue.
While driving the traction control light comes on as well at reduced engine power. It drops the speed of the car down to 40 mph or lower. It does not accelerate easily when coming to a complete stop. This can cause an accident as I have had several near misses. The light will go off if you turn the vehicle off for a few hours but does end up coming back on.
At about 10 mph upon accelerating there is a growling noise and the abs/traction control light comes on. This lasts for only a few seconds, but the car feels like it may not keep going.
At about 35 mph after driving the car at 70mph for half an hour, the passenger side fuse box burst into flames.
Vehicle was being driven on a straight dry road when it started to drift and go out of control causing the vehicle to crash into a tree.
Gm has issued a letter to those effected in gm recall 14299 saying that parts are now available. Call your dealership to schedule an appointment ASAP. I called and was told parts had to be ordered and would be between 30-60 days at which point an appointment could/would be made. Why is it to take so long to get the part delivered to a dealership if the parts are "available"? consider that in the recent Toyota airbag recall, we hear on the news this past week that parts can be available in 3 days. Why is there such a large discrepancy between the 2 manufactures? when I spoke with the dealership, I advised them that I was leaving the area in 30-45 days and if the replacement was not completed by the time I leave, I would not be back until April. That's another 6 months on the road with this defect. I don't understand why a 30 day delay to get parts to the dealer, particularly when they said for this vehicle it was only an ignition key adjustment that was needed, not a switch replacement. Is this true (I have a 2007 Impala)?.
In October 2014 I was driving down the highway going to work and the car went from 65 to 20, then it started shaking. I pulled over and the car was fine. I got back in the car and it did the same thing. I took it to the dealership and they said they would see what was wrong with it. I was already working with gm on the same issue and nothing was done. I took my vehicle to dave's mufflers in February 2015 and they fixed the throttle body. 6 months later I am having the same issue. Dave's mufflers said they ordered the part from the dealership and I just got the car fixed in February 2015. This could have caused a serious accident and my family could have been killed. There is a site with numerous of the same complaints with this vehicle and a recall really needs to be issued before someone gets killed.
2007 chevy Impala will have the engine shut down. The warning "engine power reduced" "service traction control" will come on, along with the check engine light. You cannot accelerate, the car shakes, and is difficult to drive. Had the gas pedal and the equivalent part in the engine replaced (at different times) and had the codes come up in between the parts being replaced and still now. Took it into a chevy dealer and it doesn't act up for them. And for whatever reason their computer doesn't show any problems. There are many complaints about this on different websites. I called gm and have a case opened to get help from them. It's extremely scary to have the engine power reduced while driving and it's very dangerous because you can't maneuver or accelerate.
The shift gear gets stuck in park. It won't move. I had to remove body where the gear shift is and saw it was a wire that was loose. It happen last year also.
On Tuesday, August 12th I had a rear tire blowout while driving my 2007 Chevrolet Impala. Upon closer inspection, both of the rear tires, which were both purchased new approximately 18 months ago, were extremely paper thin on the insides of the tire. The cause of this unusual wear was due to faulty spindle rods.
After driving it for many years and having no problems, I drove it a short distance and parked and could not remove the key, I tried taking it out of park and putting it back in park and after trying that several times and it not working I tried (jiggling the shifter when it was in park) and it released. It happened again for the 2nd day in a row. I will bring it to a local repair shop after the weekend is over and see if it is a bad wire or something.
The check engine light keeps coming on, the scope says vapor leak, I was told to replace the gas cap, so I did and had the engine light turned off. It came back on about 2 weeks later, so I went and bought another gas cap and still the engine light comes on. With the engine light on my start engine button wont turn the engine on for me. Is there any recall for something like this?.
In 2014 I bought this chevy Impala from a local dealer. Over time a strong odor skunk like smell radiates from the vehicles interior. After trying different things to solve this problem it still wouldn't go away. I recently did some online investigation and found out gm issued a TSB #08-08-110-019 for this problem, but they will not fix because car is out of warranty. This is a really strong odor afraid somebody is going to get sick. What can be done about this to get it fixed, I think gm should be totally responsible for this problem.
The vehicle failed to shift into park. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that there was a broken wire in the btsi solenoid terminal which needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired by re wiring the ground wire to the shifter where the pin had broken. On may 3rd the key got stuck in the ignition and would not come out. Let the car sit for 24 hours the battery died and the key released out of the ignition. Took the car to the dealership on may 5, 2014 and the shifter wires were re constructed. Car still acts as if the shifter is not going to shift.
I was driving down a 6 lane highway with a median in the middle. I was in the left hand lane/fast lane driving atleast 35-40mph. I hit a bump in the road and my ignition switched from run to off causing me to lose all power in the vehicle. . Since I was in the left lane luckly a turn around was near and I was able to safely pull the vehicle over before my steering wheel locked up.
Car hesitates and stalls into gear when turning into intersection or after stoping. In accelerates slowly and jerks into traffic.
In November of 2013 I noticed wierd tire wear on my 07 Impala lt (rear). . Thought it was due to low grade tires so I purchased a two better tire for the rear. . March 16 2014 I received a flat while parked. . . Attempted to change and inside tire wear four months brand new tires destroyed. So I researched why this would happen and found out that gm had class action lawsuit against them for know about this and only recalling law enforcement issued Impala's. I purchased the car 2010 and November 2013 is when I first seen problem.
Chevy blend door actuator has failed twice. Currently on my third actuator. Causes a clicking noise in the passenger side glove compartment area. Occurs when ever the ac mode is changed, the incar/outside car air is changed or when car is turned off. The clicking lasts for a few moments. Seems to be a possibility of fire or flying parts from broken gears.
When I put my car in park I cannot get the key to disengage from the ignition so that I am able to take the key out. I have tried jiggling the gear shift etc and it will not come out regardless of what I try.
The traction control and abs keep coming on at random times. When you trun left or right it grinds and the car acts like it dont want to move. And the time that it grinds the traction control and abs light comes on.
I was sent a recall for my vehicle. I think it is terrible that you have not found a way to fix this problem since it has been known about since 2003 and you kept on manufacturing this product. Public safety is of no concern to you until someone gets hurt or killed and you are forced to respond and even then you do not fix the problem. All people who own this vehicle should be reimbursed as now there is no way now to sell the vehicle privately or as a trade because of this defect. (there was no accident or incident except for the fact that I bought this defective car, and you knew about the defect and let no one know).
A/c failure to a 2007 Impala lt Chevrolet sedan. Smoke coming from the engine compartment led to discovery of broken serpintine belt. A/c compressor had seized making vehicle impossible to drive. All control of vehicle happened as pulling into parking space. Tow to repaair station where complete a/c was replaced. Milage at 41,988.
While driving my "service traction control" message came on followed by "reduced engine power". It slows down my vehicle and sometimes I cannot even accelerate when these messages appear. They always come on together and every single time I drive. Sometimes right away, sometimes after I've been driving for awhile. It use to not happen when I was using my cruise control but not even when that is on it happens.
I purchased my vehicle in late March 2010. Shortly thereafter, my car began to lose power. I had at least 3 incidences that I can remember, 1 of which was going down the interstate and the car completely died. Frightened, I was able to get the car to the shoulder and put the vehicle in park. My first reaction was to attempt to restart the vehicle. It started up right away and I was able to make it safely home. The other incidents were on main roads in town. The car did the same thing. After the interstate ordeal, I immediately took the car to beaty Chevrolet in knoxville, TN. They stated that the ignition went out and needed to be relaced. Now, I understand that other gm owners have had this same issue. A recall definitely needs to be issued so no more people are put in harm's way. This is a known issue according to an operator named jasmine at gm when I called a few minutes ago to inquire about the current recall regarding the key/fob turning issue. She stated that the recall had not yet been issued regarding my issue and that I needed to file a complaint with your department. I believe that this known issue is being swept under the rug by the big corporation and needs to be dealt with immediately. I deserve a full refund for "faulty" manufactured parts. Luckily, my family nor I were injured during the listed incidents listed above.
