1 Ignition problem

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Impala. While attempting to start the vehicle, the key became stuck in the ignition and failed to eject. The auto theft warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v355000 (electrical system); however, the part needed for the repair was unavailable. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 48,000.

2 Ignition problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2014

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 mph, the ignition switch independently moved from on to acc mode. In addition, the ignition key fractured in half and the remaining part of the key remained in the ignition. The contact would have to unhook the terminal battery in order to shut off the vehicle. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 14v355000 (electrical system). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 157,165.
