1 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/21/2023

The car at lights act like it does not want to go which can cause a wreck.

2 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2020

Had issues with my 2007 Impala 3. 9l stalling and reducing power on my wife, and at times almost leaving her in or on the road. I have replaced the throttle body, throttle peddle ( twice ) and had the car flashed at the local gm dealer. Now the car not only reads reduced engine power it read starting disabled service throttle and died while she was driving down a busy highway during rush hour. . Causing her to almost be involved in a bad wreck. This seriously needs to have attention of whoever at gm is over safety, cause this issue will end up in a really bad situation if or when someone ends up seriously hurt or killed. I mean you really need to program them to slowly reduce power, not just tell you then shut off completely and have the driver fight and panic to get off the road through traffic, while not getting run over in the process. But if there is a fix we need to know.

3 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/13/2018

I recently purchased a 2007 chevy Impala, 3 weeks after purchase while on the highway, the car suddenly slowed down to a crawl, a reduced engine light came on the dash, being as we were on the highway to suddenly only being able to go 20mph was very frightening!! I was able to get the car to the side and had to have it towed home. After searching this issue online I found thousands of complaints from people with the same issue with this same car. I find it strange there was not a recall for this due to it being a serious safety issue. After calling a chevy dealer, they told me all they could do is hook it up for diagnostic tests but it would cost 175. 00 just to do that. This vehicle is still parked and we are unable to drive it and still have no idea what's wrong with it. I'm very concerned about driving it again for fear of this happening again and us maybe not being as lucky next time!!!! serious issue with thousands of complaints online. Simply type in reduced engine power make model and year of car and many people have had this same issue!!!!.

4 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/08/2018

"takata recall" while on the highway traction alert came on the message states the engine is slowing down and took it to o'reily's and states the sensor codes alerts that will cause my car to fail by shutting down and locking up if its not corrected and to see if there is any recalls on this malfunction.

5 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/14/2016

Engine power was reduced while I was traveling with the flow of traffic. I attempted to accelerate but car started slowing down. Took the vehicle for repair and replaced the pedal position sensor was replaced. I contacted chevy dealership service dept and was told it's a common occurrence. Impalas have a throttle sensor instead of cable. If the sensor goes out, the engine power is reduced to protect the engine integrity. In some cases, it's reduced significantly. The manufacture noted my concern but the rep would not escalate the matter. I went online to file a complaint and there is a chevy forum with similar concerns. General motor reps reply with common responses to take the vehicle to an authorized mechanic and their concern has been noted. I was informed by representative at 800# for manufacture to call back if it happens again. Thankfully I wasn't going at a higher speed in dallas traffic. Not sure if I would have had the luxury of pulling over.

6 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/04/2016

My wife's 2007 chevy Impala left her stranded on the side of a busy highway in a snowstorm. She was driving at highway speeds when all of a sudden, her overheat warning light began flashing, and what she described as "a huge cloud of fog or smoke" was trailing behind her. She immediately put on her hazards and pulled off to the side of the road. Once stopped, the digital readout showed "engine overheat, idle engine" and then the engine shut off. The vehicle is at a dealer awaiting diagnosis.

7 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/10/2015

Reduced engine power/ traction control warning/ gas line fuel leak. This car flashed a reduced engine power message while I was going 65 mph straight away on busy city (in houston) freeway and the traction control warning light came on. My car then immediately reduced speed and would not go beyond 40 mph. I was told that the gas line fuel leak has nothing to do with it but it seems very coincidental that this all happened in the same day. Gm is putting out a lot of trashy vehicles right now and this should definitely be a recall; especially when there are numerous valid complaints of the same issue. I'll never by gm/chevy again. I am going back to an imported brand.

8 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2015

Fuel system, gasoline I check many times the mechanic always said there is a leak fuel system and the engine light is on.

9 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/15/2015

I have experienced many issues with my car. Shuts off when stopped/brake. Cranks right back up. Reduced engine power car has shut down starter bisabled. Low oil pressure light comes on and stays on. Traction control light comes on.

10 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/13/2014

While driving car started to jerk and hesitate the check engine light came on along with a message of reduced engine power. Could not drive the drive over 5 mph. Was able to get to the side of the road. Had to push the car into a parking lot as the engine will no longer start but cranks over fine. Had to buy a scanner to read the code because the car was not able to drive to a auto repair shop or auto parts store to read the codes. The po641 code was set. Checked and tested the sensor wires for the 5volts every one that I tested showed ok. Replaced the gas pedal assemble because of the code that could be a source of the problem no difference. Cleaned the throttle body unit no change car will not start. Checked and gave all the wires a good pull and or tug to wiggle the connectors and took apart all sensor connections no corrosion was found. All grounds appear to be good. No broken wires are found no blown fuses were found. After 2 days was able to start engine with the message reduced engine power and car died again and would restart but not idle. Was able to rev engine and keep it running but once it idled it would die and sometimes not restart again. At this time car is unsafe to operate on any roadway because it might die and random times.

11 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/23/2013

My wife's daily driver is a 2007 Impala . She was driving home with our three kids when the car started shaking and the reduced engine power display came on. After that she could only go about 25mph. This scared her and could have caused an accident. I looked online and found forums about a lot of people having the same problem and it pisses me off that gm hasn't recalled these vehicles . Does someone have to die before this situation is taken care of?.

12 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/08/2013

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that there was a visible fuel leak and the check engine light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was repaired. The cause of the failure was unknown. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 93,000. Updated 08/11/lj.

13 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/10/2011

First, when I slow down to turn a corner, I take my foot off the gas. After the turn, when I press the gas I have no power. It doesn't die, it just won't go anywhere for about 15-20 seconds, no power. That doesn't sound like a long time unless you are sitting in the middle of a busy intersection. I have to come to a complete stop for about 20-30 seconds, then take off. Sometimes it goes, but feels like it jerks into gear. That's ok at stop signs but stop lights that turn green as I approach can be dangerous. Also, if I turn a corner onto another street, it hesitates. And sometimes I have almost been hit from behind. People expect you to turn and proceed. When you just stop, they may not. I also noticed one day, when I just coast on a level road, my car sometimes accelerates for quite a while, instead of slowing down immediately. I once took my foot off the gas at 45 mph and coasted on flat road for 2. 5 miles. The latest related problem is. . Spring 2013, twice, I turned a corner and it just died. I had to pull over to the side of the road to get out of traffic. After a few minutes, it cranked back up. Thankfully, I was on a city street and not a four lane road. I also have problems with parking. I put my foot on the brakes and pull into parking spot. When I put it in park, it lunges forward. Or if I stop in traffic, sometimes it lunges after it stops. I have to make sure that I leave plenty of room in front for this problem. I think it has something to do with the computer allowing the gas to flow or stop. I had the transmission rebuilt and it still does it.
