Failure Date: 05/01/2008

The failure only occurs when the fuel gauge indicates that there is 70-80 miles left in the tank. The contact must turn the engine off and restart the vehicle to allow the failure to correct itself. The dealer stated that the failure was the result of how the fuel system tank was designed. Due to its flat bottom, air enters the system and causes the vehicle to stall and shut off. The dealer stated that nothing could be done to remedy the failure. They further advised her to keep the fuel tank over a quarter full for the failure not to occur. The speed was unknown. The current mileage was 10,860 and failure mileage was 10,800.
