Other Fuel System problem #1

While driving at highway speeds the car will act up and the engine will shut off, I get the message on the odometer display that reads, engine power is reduced, service throttle, starter disabled. This is not a good thing to have happen while driving.

Other Fuel System problem #2

Tl- the contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated the vehicle stalls when the accelerator pedal is depressed, and the vehicle smells of fuel. The vehicle stated the oil and power steering fluid levels were low. November 2019 failure occurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 123,000. Bh.

Other Fuel System problem #3

Reduced engine power light comes on intermintently while driving had the throttle body and accelerator pedal replcaed twice after I bought the car with 75000 miles on it. Still the reduced engine power light comes on. Just yesterday I was unable to start my car. Throttle problems light came on in window.

Other Fuel System problem #4

As I was driving, around 30 mph, the warning displays "reduced engine speed" and the car will barely reach 45 mph. Twice in 5 years, we have had to replace the accelerator pedal position sensor.

Other Fuel System problem #5

Hesitation during acceleration.

Other Fuel System problem #6

Takata recall I have a 2008 chevy Impala I'm having problems with engine reduce car is jerking and slowing down I had the patio replaced and one sensor and now I am having a throttlebody put on hopefully hopefully this stops the problem but this issue has been going on for a very long time other people I have communicated with that has the same car as me are having the same problems unfortunately I look these problems up in our cars for the 2008 chevy and was not on the recall list which I think that it should.

Other Fuel System problem #7

Throttle pedal gone bad /service traction control warning ?.

Other Fuel System problem #8

I purchased a 2008 chevy Impala ltz from a reputable certified used car dealership (merrolis Chevrolet 9 mile and gratiot). I also had a warranty. In less than two months I had a service invoice for over 1300. 00 the car needed a airbag coil replacement (477. 00) steering difficulties. Also. The converter needed replacement (877. 00). This makes the car sound like it needs a new muffler. I complained to the manager in service and I'm awaiting a response 11-13-15. He was supposed to call me back on Friday 11-13-15 but did not.

Other Fuel System problem #9

Was driving on busy one lane road, reduced speed, check traction control, check engine light came on and car slowed down to 45 and would not go any faster, was able to pull off of road and shut car off started about 5 minutes later no indication of the problem. Two days later the problem came back. Went to internet to check problem seems like there have been 100,000 s of these problems many resulting in accidents. It does not show that there has been a recall. This is very serious if I would have been on a freeway with trucks traveling at high speed I could have been killed. What has the vehicle safety board done to protect owners of faulty vehicles?.

Other Fuel System problem #10

This is the third time I had to fix this passlock thing on my Impala and im getting so sick and tired of it.

Other Fuel System problem #11

Out of nowhere my door lock actuators for all three passenger doors are not working neither is my trunk opening and to make it worse im sitting in my job parking lot with the a/c on waiting for my break to be over and all of a sudden my car starts blowing air from the outside inside the car and I looked at my dash and my temp level was rising to in between 1/2 and 3/4 got out check coolant coolant was fine and everything else checked fine but now everytime I sit in my car with the engine running and my a/c on it only stays on for about 20 mins, then the a/c cut off, starts blowing hot air, and the a/c nor the recirclation will engage it blinks. And to make it worse I smell fuel on my oil dipstick and my car is drinking fuel like water someone please help me.

Other Fuel System problem #12

While driving, fast or slow, my car will slow down abruptly and a "engine power is reduced" warning comes up on the lcd dash. This has also happened while I've been standing idle at traffic lights. I am afraid that one day my car will stop completely while I'm on the highway, resulting in a crash of some sort.

Other Fuel System problem #13

I just purchased my used vehicle from a dealer less than 6 months ago. My engine light kept coming on and then it stayed on. I went to a local auto parts store to get a diagnostic reading and it said to check my emmision system. So, I took my car to the chevy dealer in town and their diagnostic test determined that it was a bad evap vent solenoid valve. Even though my car is covered by the 8 year federal warranty on emissions, I had to pay for the new part and the diagnostics check. In looking up this problem on the internet, to my surprise it is a very common problem! apparently, the solenoid valve is a poor lasting part which needs to be replaced more than once! it is a common maintenance service that should be checked every 30,000 miles. There is no mention of this in my owner's manual. In speaking with family and friends, they have also had their engine lights come on and had gas station mechanics tell them to ignore the check engine light as it is a common occurrence with the newer vehicles and the new emmision standards. When I told chevy that they should recall the part, they told me that they don't handle that and to report it to the national highway traffic safety administration. I believe the consumer is not getting all the information on this problem and someone should be held responsible for this defective part.

Other Fuel System problem #14

We own 2008 chevy Impala with 40,000 + miles. The engine light goes on and off. We often check if the gas cap is on tight. This usually helps. This past week, all we tried with gas cap did not help. We took car to gm dealer. There is a defect in the gas cap. However, the new gas cap cost us $80 parts plus labor and cost of analysis. We have owned many cars and never had to replace a gas cap. Even a car with 350,000 had original gas cap. This is unfair for owner to bear this expense. Thank you.

Other Fuel System problem #15

Gm advertises that mileage for average highway driving is 28 mpg. The car does not meet or even come close to this standard. I have tested mileage with 100% highway driving and the max mpg is 23. With some minimal off highway driving (to and from highway) the mpg averages 21 to 22. Off highway mpg averages 19. My investigations have found that gm has changed the final drive ratio. At 70 mph the engine rpm is 2,300. That is 300 rpm more that previous model years.

Other Fuel System problem #16

Gm advertises that the 3. 9 liter engine is supposed to get 28mpg and we can't get more than 25mpg in either of our Impalas equipped with this engine and both cars have over 10,000 miles on them which according to the dealer means they should be broken in. I've talked to gm twice about it and they blame the epa for the advertised numbers on the window sticker so it's not their problem and the dealer doesn't know what to do but they have told me other customers with that engine have complained as well. Who does the testing on the cars to get the fuel mileage numbers that are on the window stickers? I thought the new numbers for 2008 were supposed to be more accurate then in the past. We've had four other new Impalas (01,02,04,04) and they all got the fuel mileage advertised so why do the 08's with the 3. 9 do so poorly?.
