Seat Belt problem #1

I am informing you of some very serious concerns in regards to parts of the 07 and 08 chevy Impala that have failed causing accidents as well as injury and grave potential for fatalities. Airbags not deploying, seat belts not locking on impact first and foremost I have requested copies of the paperwork that was submitted to the courts in somerset WI. This showed exactly what took place causeing an accident that was considered negligent due to medications I was on and my disability. The mechanic gave me this report along with info stating that this was a huge problem in fleet police vehicals. The info stated that the police vehicals were fixed and checked however this part has no recall or revision to correct the safety issues that we can find. My vehical does have high millage however it has been very well taken care of thanks to erickson oil and mechanic friends. This part snapping after cracking esily resulted in complete loss of control as well as the car locking up and becoming impossible to steer and stop. It is disturbing that these parts were not corrected from a manufactering aspect (this was looked at by a machinest, as well as an engineer and by the qaulity/dimesions/structure this part easily looked defective) the visual as well as skilled aproach to problem solving drove us to look up recalls prior to buying a new part. We could not find any. Just info that this exact make and model were purchased as fleet vehicals in 07 and 08. Problems with many of these cars resulted in pulling all of the fleet/govnt patrol cars in to be fixed/investigated. However we have been unable to find a recall or warning that should have also been issued to the public. I am currently looking into help to investigate and help get this looked at as it caused an accident as well as being unstable and faulty in another minor impact accident potentiaaly increasing fatality/injuries.

Seat Belt problem #2

Airbag light comes on randomly and quite often. The Chevrolet dealer told me the airbag will not deploy when the light is on or when the seatbelt latch triggers the airbag not to deploy.

Seat Belt problem #3

The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that the front passenger seat belt became jammed and became locked. The contact was unable to use the seat belt. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 67,000.

Seat Belt problem #4

The bolt/clip to the passenger side front seat belt clip to the b-pillar fell off while driving without any pressure applied. The same happened approximately six months ago. After both times, I had to screw and tighten the bolt/screw to reattach the seat belt clip to the b-pillar. Seat belts are one of the most important safety components of a vehicle. Failure of the b-pillar clip/support of a seat belt in the event of a collision would likely result in a catastrophic injuries, which may have been preventable should the seat belt have functioned property as intended.

Seat Belt problem #5

My seat belts won't lock properly. The passenger belt has the most issues and you have to push it in and then click it. In and then you can't guarantee it will stay locked.

Seat Belt problem #6

Involved in a front collision, and neither seatbelt deployed or airbags.

Seat Belt problem #7

I own a 2008 Chevrolet Impala. Today 11/03/2012 while driving to work the check engine light came on with a message indicating "engine power reduced". I researched the issue and discovered the accelerator pedal sensor is malfunctioning and this causes the message and check engine to appear. This sensor affects the cars drivability and causes limited speed in the vehicle. I looked on google and there are several complaints regarding the same issue. I guess no one has reported it but it seems very common amongst Chevrolet Impala model cars 2006 and up. . Read more...

Seat Belt problem #8

My seat belt light on the passenger side is blinking when the seat belt is clicked in position. The light flashes and it is tight in the slot. If you move with it on it flashes. My concern is if it will work when needed.

Seat Belt problem #9

On two occasions this December I rented vehicles from both alamo and enterprise in boston, MA and minneapolis, mn respectively at airport locations. On both occasions I rented a 2008 Chevrolet Impala LS. In boston the wiper pump was defective, and in minneapolis the abs system was either not included or non-operating. In sunny weather, no one would have noticed either problem. But what I did notice is. On both cars the safety belts for the driver, passenger and rear passengers did not tension properly during low speed braking, and medium speed emergency braking, whereby occupants where thrown forward into whatever was in front of them. In my case it was the steering column a few times, and with others seats, and/or dashboard. I think this is the most serious problem, and should be addressed immediately. Both were LS models, though they varied inside as to the controls on the center console.
