Worst car gm is horrible.
Check engine light came on. Message came across saying reducing engine power. Then said to service stabilizer. It then turned off traction control. We were driving home from vacation when this happened. After a bit driving the whole car shit off while driving 60mph on a busy highway. The message on dash said it disabled our starter. We almost did not get off the road safely we were in the left lane and could not get to the shoulder. My husband had to make the decision to pass across into oncoming because thankfully there was no one coming.
I was driving on the highway and received the following message, service stabilitrak - reduced engine power. This has come up a few times. This time though while still driving my engine power was greatly reduced with the error, "starter disabled, service throttle". This led to a drastic decrease in speed with zero control over throttle and moved to the shoulder and the car rolled to a halt.
We where coming home and heard a loud snap on my right side by the wheel and as we reduce speed the car starts to shake violently and the traction sensors went off the car reduced speed dangerously on the frw with traffic behind us and hard to steer. . . And moments after the car shut off.
Tl the contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Impala. The contact state while driving 35 mph, the vehicle started hesitating. The contact was in the process of making a left turn when he heard an abnormal noise coming from the vehicle. The contact stated that change throttle body, service stability trac and service traction control warning lights were illuminated. The engine power reduced warning light was also illuminated. The vehicle was taken to autosmart - longview located at 1151 mccann rd, longview, TX 75601, (833) 586-2886 however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The mechanic reset the check engine warning light. The contact stated that the failure recurred four times. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 127,068.
On 1/29/16 my car died and towed to dealer where I was told I need a transmission. The car only had 69000 6months ago dash board lights lit traction control, reduced engine power service stabilitrack abs. When I would step on the accelaretor pedal it would make a winding noise go to the floor and pop back up again. As I was driving down the highway all of a sudden I had no acceleration car had died. L pulled to the side of the road a few minutes later started up again this happened numerous times I told my son he couldn't drive the car because I felt it was unsafe. I called the gm they gave me a coupon to have the a diagnostic check on it. In sept I went to the dealer and he scanned my car for codes I was told I needed a right front hub part number 13582664, a right wheel speed sensor harness, 10340314, accelerator pedal, 84018392, and a vent valve 2085252. I can't believe a car dealers would let a person leave not informing the customer what a safety issue this is. I drove the car for a day because I couldn't afford to fix it and was trying to come up with the money again the car died on me as I went to accelerate now the car is sitting in my yard dead as a doornail. I called the dealer and explain the situation to the dealer at lannan Chevrolet in woburn and I spoke with the owner and the only response I got was what do you want there's a hundred thousand miles on the car I have been doing lots of research on this particular vehicle and I'm appalled between a 2008 and a 2011 there has been hundreds of complaints about the same issue. These are safety issues where people can get killed. Out of all these safety issues there's not one investigation that has been opened in regards to the issues. Nhtsa or gm needs to open an investigation immediately on these cars. There is a major safety issue and a recall is necessary. VIN number. . Takata recall I keep having the abs light along with traction control light turn on every other day and in mornings it disappears as I drive. Car has 60129 miles on it and I have read on Impala forums it is common but no recalls issued yet.
Driving at about 70mph my check engine light came with with the reading service stability track, engine reduced power an disabled started, service throttle instantly I loss all rmps an my steering wheel almost fully locked while the car was still on motion. Luckily I was able to jus barley veer off the road into safety. Why would a car company have something like this in thier vehicles. That would lock the steering wheel while going at accelerated speeds.
While in motion my 2011 chevy Impala up a highway my vehicle dash will come up and say stabilitrak disabled traction control disabled then engine power reduced then the vehicle will begin to not steer correctly then I will have to pull over and restart the vehicle it then repeats itself after a short period of time.
takata recall while driving on the highway, my vehicle will lose power, which cause the vehicle to shut down. On the dashboard, service airbag appears as well as the abs light and lock mode comes on. The vehicle key will not turn to off mode until a few seconds. Then once the vehicle allows the key to turn to off mode, u have to wait a few seconds then the car will start with no problem and the abs and lock signal on dashboard goes off. This has happened several times in one trip on the highway. This is not safe at all because the steering wheel also get stiff and the traction control comes on the dashboard as well. What can I do about this? should I take my vehicle in to the dealership? the last time this problem happened to me was March 14, 2019.
Loss of power steering at startup, becomes intermittent after driving for a few minutes, then service stabilitrack notification comes on sometimes while driving. The stabilitrack notification will come on while making a turn, doesn't matter if it is a right or left turn.
While driving 60 mph, go a service stabilatrak, reduced engine power, then engine turned itself off. Fortunately, I was on a straight road as power steering and brakes did not work. After rolling to a stop, I put it in park and tried to restart. Nothing! no clicking at all. After 5 minutes and multiple attempts, car started and drove normally??? car only has 36,000 miles on it.
Car gets service stabitrack, traction control and abs warning on dash. Replacing wheel hubs with sensors does not fix this issue. Sometimes the car will want to apply brakes while driving or reduce engine speed. I have been through many forums with people reporting the same issue on the same car and through multiple years of manufacturing. From the research I have done in the last few days it looks like hundreds of owners have reported this issue but Chevrolet is not doing anything to correct it. Not sure at this point if it is the wiring harness causing the problem or if this could be something with the computer that controls the stabitrack, abs and traction control. If cars are loosing power and or the brakes are being applied with out driver control this can lead to dangerous driving conditions for the car owner passengers and everyone else driving on the same road. With how many people are reporting this I do not see why the car owner should need to pay thousands of dollars to diagnose and maybe fix the issue. From what I have read some people have had to pay for multiple service events and the issue still not resolved.
Tl the contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Impala. While operating the vehicle, the traction control, service stabilitrak, and reduce power indicators illuminated. When the failure occurred, the vehicle suddenly decelerated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the accelerator pedal, but the failure continued. The local dealer (malcolm cunningham Chevrolet, 2031 gordon hwy, augusta, GA) was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 139,000.
When driving the stabilitrak light reduced engine power light comes on along with the check engine light. My car slows down and sometimes it would stall when stepping on the gas and the gas pedal would sometimes shake. After shutting the car off for about an hour or so the stabilitrak light would go off and after a day the engine light would go off as well. Whenever I take it to the mechanic to have it diagnosed and fixed they are not able to find anything wrong with it. This happens without warning often even when driving on the highway and frightens me with hopes that it does not cause an accident that could seriously injure myself or others, or cause a fatal accident.
I keep getting errors of check stabilitrak engine power reduced I have changed the throttle body.
Upon starting stabilitrak needs service. Redused engine power and check engine light all came on and car ran rough. Reatart and car runs but check engine light satys on.
One month after I bought it used from a dealer I started getting service stabilitrak, service traction control, service abs lights with reduced power. It has almost 87k miles on it.
You really want to know what I think? ok. . . Here's what I think. I think that is beyond comprehension and personally I think it's illegal that gm can get away with not having to put out a recall for the "engine power is reduced" issue that just about every make and model of gm vehicles have. It's not only time consuming to try and figure out what the fix would be because it's not always the same thing wrong on each vehicle (and when you do have it fixed it doesn't last very long until the "engine power is reduced" warning comes back), it's also very expensive but the biggest problem is that it's extremely dangerous. The power is reduced and actually turns the car engine off no matter if you're driving or not. It shut my 2011 Chevrolet Impala engine off as I was driving down the interstate. Thank god there was very little traffic or it could have been catastrophic. I didn't realize how big of a problem this was until I started researching the problem. It's absolutely criminal that you pay your hard earned money for a vehicle and it not only isn't what you thought you were paying for but it can actually take your life and ruin your family because gm's bottom line is more important than their customers lives. I've filled a complaint on this problem already and if something isn't done and it's the cause of grief for my family I will make it my mission to make sure gm not only fixes their crappy workmanship but that they also dig into their bottom line and compensate their customers for the heartache and grief they have caused. It's a pretty simple fix for them and that would be to acknowledge the problem and just fix it, but I just don't think they care enough to do that. I've always been a chevy guy, but after this Impala I will never own or drive another gm product for as long as I am around. That's what I think. Signed, chevy guy forced to not be a chevy guy.
I was driving on the interstate and a message came up saying "engine power is reduced". It was during rush hour and I almost got rear ended because my vehicle slowed down to about 15 miles per hour.
Wife and daughter were driving in car when all of a sudden warning lights came on and the vehicle lost all power in the middle of traffic. No brakes, brakes or steering, thanks god there was no accident.
I was driving on I-695 (in baltimore) with my 3 daughters I received "service stabilitrak, traction control, engine power reduced" message while driving around 65 mph. The engine and tracking light came on and the messages would not go away. I was frighten and hopeful that we would not only make it to our destination but then back home again. Fortunately we did but the very next day I have researched this issue. It seems to be a ongoing issues and maybe cost me hundreds of dollars to repair. That makes me nervous because I am a single mother with only one source of income.
Car threw message saying reduced engine power, service traction control and service stabilitrak all at once. My car would not go and was losing speed while I was on the interstate. I was forced to pull off at a heavily traveled part of the road and wait for assistance. I had to have my car towed and worked on. The mechanic said that it is possibly a bad throttle body. I have had this same thing happen two other times within less than a year. I would like it to be noted that this time it left me in a dangerous situation. I went from doing the speed limit which was 70 then it gradually decreased in speed until it would no longer run at all.
Sudden displayed message while driving: service stability control , service traction control , reduced engine power. Car was unable to go after stop. Parked the car and restarted with just an engine light, but messages started to flash again. Did get me home.
When coming to a stop my abs service stability traction control service brake lights all come on then my 2011 hesitation to stop when braking. Even if I go slow or just stopping at a stop sign. It pushes my foot from the brake. A cranking noise sound. I have gotten brake, tire rods, roaders and new tires. I don't know what else to do. This happens specifically when on the highway when having to come to a sudden stop. I almost crashed several times not being able to stop. Mind you my car only has 65000 miles on it. This is just too soon.
Takata the problem that is wrong with my car is the engine power reduce is always come on and when I'm on the interstate or highway my speed reduce and my car can shut off at any time while driving and it can cause a bad wreck. The problem been happen for a minute now.
Why is there not a recall on stability traction control? I see thousands of complaints on the internet for gm vehicles. It seems to me that gm just doesn't care enough after the sale. I just bought 2011 Impala and now the stabalitrack service light keeps coming on while going down the road. It will do this for no apparent reason but happens mostly when accelerating. Using the cruise control on level road and dash warning light comes on and throws car out of cruise, decelerating while gages flip around all over the place. Power loss and lack of acceleration are definitely safety issues. Pulling out of my driveway onto michigan highway and I get halfway across highway and car stops. This highway is 55 mpg and while I would have had plenty of time to cross the lane, car looses all power. Looking on the internet gives no help for a fix. I turned the stability traction control off, but the problem does not go away. I see on the internet that many people have taken there vehicle to the dealer garage only to get charged exorbitant prices for "possible" that do not seem to help. Gm should get this figured out and not let every dealer garage do their own guessing on what will fix this very dangerous problem that is not limited to single model or year but spans many years with many models. My first vehicle was a gm but this may be my last gm. I would like to give a date below but this has been happening since I bought the vehicle about a month ago and getting steadily worse. I have had it checked out but nobody can give me any useful answers.
Reduced engine power, service stabilitrak and traction control. Spent $300 to get the gas pedal sensor replaced 4 days ago and its doing it again. Car loses power (I was I-65 going about 60 mph). Shifts hard, too.
The check engine and stabilitrak light has come on and off several times and also causing my vehicle to slow down. I am now at the point of desperation as this morning, while I was on my way to work, the lights came on again, only this time the car turned itself off but proceeded to roll even with me attempting to put on brakes. I have read in several forums that this has happened to others, including someone crashing into a light pole. Please advise what can be done, as I now fear for my life with this car.
I will be driving, sometimes on the highway at high speeds, and the check engine light will come and say "engine power reduced" "service stabilitrack". The engine fastly reduces speed and I am unable to accelerate. This is very dangerous and could cause an accident.
My chevy says stabilize track then engine power slows it's very dangerous should be a recall.
Bought 2011 Impala lt 2 weeks ago, first time driving to work on freeway - engine light comes on and message comes up - engine power loss, stabilitak traction control. Car completely shut down!! almost got hit by semi . No one has any answers!?.
On two different occasions, once about a year ago and again today, my 2011 chev Impala ltz displayed a series of rotating alert messages -- 1. Service traction control 2. Service stabilitrak 3. Engine power is reduced. I was driving about 45 miles per hour on an open road when all of a sudden the engine started running very roughly and slowed down and the above 3 messages repeatedly displayed one after the other. Also 2 yellow lights were flashing and then remained on -- the check engine light and the traction control light (I think). When I reported this problem to the chev dealership a year ago, I was told that because the warning lights and messages could not be reproduced in the service department, there was nothing that they could do. (and I understand that if it isn't broken when I take it in, the service dept would most challenged to fix it. ) today, when this happened I was able to get the car to a safe place to park. I turned off the ignition, waited a moment and then restarted the car. The same 3 messages were displayed with the two yellow lights staying on. When I restarted the car 3 or 4 hours later, only the check engine light is displayed. The 3 referenced alerts were not displayed. I am getting ready to take the car to the dealership again with this problem. Do you have any advice as to how to proceed?.
Traction control light, stabilitrac light, and engine light all came on while driving down highway. This caused the car to start jerking and shifting hard, also engine running like it has a misfire now. Before this began the car was running and shifting perfect.
June 8 2013: when driving, noticed on the freeway, it wasn't smooth at times. The transmission's shifting was pretty rough. No indication of any issues popped up on dashboard. When arriving at freeway ramp, it felt like I was hydroplaning, but on gravel. Then, noticed when pressing the accelerator, was not going anywhere, but felt like I was in neutral. Was able to pull in and take a look. . . Transmission fluid was fine. . . Nothing popped up on the dashboard. Nothing! the indicators for tires, oil, etc were showing info, but nothing to indicate it had died!! dropped it off at the dealership - had just bought it in July 2012. 11 months later, this?!?!? they are saying they have never seen it this bad, even when compared to other ollllllder cars, this was the worst. They have to replace the entire transmission. They called in the gm people to take a look at it. Their auto trans concern: customer states towed in transmission will not move at time of write up reverse and forward working input and reaction carrier excessive clearance metal in torque converter. , valve body, burnt clutches call tac case #71-1194752825 prive comp advised to replace trans due to cost with srta. Ord serial #619asbwjr6j prelacw tih srta flush code 693ffee5 they replaced it under warranty. . . Total cost was $4400 Aug. 29, 2017. The replaced transmission failed. We were on the freeway, just got off, while in motion, there was some really rough vibration. Could not go any faster than 25 mph. No light indications on the dashboard. It tells me if flat tire, blinker is on, the temperature outside, etc etc, but nothing wrong with the transmission. I'm not sure if it's related, but we smelled vinegar every time we started the car for about 4 days straight. We noticed that when accelerating, it's okay, but when letting off the gas on the freeway, it "shudders. ".
