1 Tire problem

Failure Date: 06/12/2015

The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Impala equipped with goodyear eagle LS-2 tires, size: p225/55r17. The contact stated that the tire warning light illuminated because the front passenger side tire developed a slow leak. Several days later, while pulling out of the driveway at 10 mph, the contact noticed that the vehicle drove abnormally. The contact pulled over and noticed that the front passenger tire thread separated. The manufacturer was not notified. The tire was replaced. The tire and vehicle failure mileage was approximately 36,000. The VIN was not available.

2 Tire problem

Failure Date: 12/22/2014

I work in a tire shop and in the past two weeks I have had two 2013 Impala lt's come in with partially separated tires. Both were goodyear eagle ls2's, same size, and same dot number. Separation was identical on both vehicles. Customers reported that their tire had a slow leak in both cases. Upon checking the tire I noticed both tires had uneven wear and were separated on the shoulder. Tires were both replaced as a result of the partial separation.
