The blindspot detection system module failed and it messed up all my electrical systems in the car thw speedometer rpm and fuel and temperature gauges bottomed out to 0. All the lights came on . The vehicle was in motion doing 79 mph on the interstate. On star thought I was in an accident.
When starting the vehicle 5e service stabilitrack light will turn on; the gear will be on manual instead of int he park position - and I am unable to switch the gear. I am not able to put it in drive. I have to turn it off and on a couple of times before it will start on park. The car has also switched to the manual position when I'm driving and making a left turn. This happens more frequently after it's rained the service engine light comes on, but after a few days it turns off. The problem of going from park to manual or from being in drive to manual has happened both while the car is in motion or when it is stationary- it's also happened on a busy highway or in town at low speed.
This has now occurred on two separate occasions. When my car is in motion, the stabilitrack lights flicker on and my car begins to lose power. I cannot drive over 35 miles per hour tops, incredibly dangerous on the freeways in southern California!.
Car started smoking from the bumper area and electrical system going nuts. Car was sluggish and acting weird. All gauges and instrument panel going off and on. Door locks locking and unlocking. Cruise enable then disable. Infotainment system screen glitching out. Took to dealership they said the side detection module and wiring harness is bad where it got wet. The location leaves it exposed to water from the roadway and can cause fire hazard. Very dangerous and scary driving down the road and all this happens on the highway.
Side traffic detection system is inoperative. Car has been at the dealership for 15 days as of this writing . We are being told the control modules to repair the defect is not available. We are elderly and cannot be without the use of a car.
Every warning light on the dashboard became illuminated. Lost power steering, car became sluggish, lacked speed, and power. Braking control was limited. Vehicle was drive able only in limp mode.
While driving down the road the message center popped up the service power assist steering, and the abs and stabilitrak were also deactivated. This all happened while driving down the highway at 55mph in a straight line.
I have filed a complaint last month about my 2014 chevy Impala's side detection system, back up camera warnings, and forward collision systems all not working. Today I am adding that while driving on the freeway in moderate rain doing 55mph, my stabilitrak light came on, abs light came on and I lost power steering. I did not lose control of my car, but it could have been bad. I called chevy as soon as I got home to file a complaint. I will be bringing it to the dealership tomorrow as I have read other complaints of this happening as well with the next thing to go is the car won't start. This situation is uncalled for in a vehicle with 45,000 miles at a price tag of $35,000, especially when the other issues started happening around d 38,000 miles. Before today, when I started my car the service lights for front camera, park assist, and side detection all lit up. I did not take it to the dealership at that point because I heard it was expensive to fix now I have to as the safety of driving it is severely unstable.
It has a few different problems. The first being a trunk seal that was already recalled, yet my “fixed” seal wasn’t even fixed and my trunk is still taking on water when it rains. The other problem started a week ago. My abs light came on while driving and the traction control light and neither will go off. Today while driving my car felt like it was losing power all of a sudden and a dinger went off and the brake assist light came on as well as 2 parking break lights. Both times the lights come on I was driving. None of the lights will go off, and now it’s dinging for a minute or more just because of the warning light.
While driving, several functions in the car will turn off. Functions include heating/ cooling system, lights (dashboard lights), doors lock/ unlock and collision systems turns off. I've researched online and found several other customers have had the same issues ranging back to 2018. I've taking my car to a gm dealership and found that the sensor malfunctioned and needed to be replaced. I also found the sensor is on back order, which makes me believe this is a larger issue than I thought and some one needs to investigate further. Driving along the highway and several security features start to turn off is dangerous.
While in motion around 30mph, felt a vibration followed by 2 messages on the info center. Service stabilitrack, service power steering drive with care. The abs light and the stabilitrack lights are illuminated on the dash as well as no longer having power steering.
I received a recall letter from gm regarding an electrical recall on my 2014 chevy Impala 2014. There is water damage in side detection senors, which are underneath the 2 back tires. Water damage that has cause electrical issues with every electrical part of the car. Speedometer goes off while driving lights go off and on while driving. Sensors are beeping while driving radio gets loud turns off and on on its own. Airbag warnings while driving, battery shuts down. Its a mess.
When making turns, left turns especially, the car hesitates and makes a grinding noise. It feels like it loses power, and will not move, which is very scary and dangerous in the middle of rush hour traffic in a busy city. Sometimes the stabilyzer and/or traction control lights come one during these episodes. This is the 3rd time I have had to have my car serviced for the exact same problem. I am a single divorced 55 year old woman, I do not have the time away from work or the money to continue to spend on repairs that I have no choice or control over. Please recall this problem. I have read hundreds of complaints about the same thing online when I researched my problem. Recall !!! or do we have to get killed before you the manufacturer does that?.
While driving around 7:30am on Nov 2nd, the vehicle power steering and abs stopped working and warning lights began to go off. I was traveling at 70mph on a wet highway. Steering became very difficult. I got off at the very next exit.
Takata recall. Stablink first came on my car when driving on a city road it was shaking did not want to pick up speed. Had that fixed, then 9/2018 my side blinders started malfunctioning would come on and off. At times one would just stay on even when the car was off. Received a letter 4/2019 about extended warranty on this but only good for 80,000 miles. My car has 98,000 miles. So here I am stuck to have to pay out of pocket.
While I was driving 60mph on an interstate my car notification screen displayed "service stabilitrak"/ "engine power reduced". . . Then my car acceleration seemed to have died and car slowed all the way down to around 20 mph with the gas pedal diwn to the floor. . . A big semi truck was behind me and had to break and swerve around me while blowing his horn. . . I was nearly killed.
Upon starting the car warning message appeared on the dash stating power steering drive with caution. The car seemed to almost stall after that. The vechicle was stationary at the time. It immediately became hard to steer. After 20 mins I was ablw to turnthe car off and restart it and drive.
After backing out of my driveway, the warning lights stating service stabilitrak, brake assist & traction control. Also, abs light stays on and when initiating brakes, brake pedal vibrates and makes a vibrating noise. While I was driving to my appt, the message kept flashing over and over. Same problem 6/15/18 & had front hub & bearing assembly replaced. Ok until 8/22/18.
My car had warning lights for stabilitrak, parking brake, abs that came on. The car jerks when you start it and shift gears. The car does not accelerate like normal and has stuggle reaching high speeds. While driving, some of the lights went offf and caused more jerking of the vehicle.
Service stability track came on four times since I have owned the car. The last time I was enroute to my home from a medical appointment in minneapolis, mn. This time the car was losing power. I managed to get the car to a chevy dealer, two hours from my home, to have three service codes shut off, one of which was service stability track.
I get intermittent service stabilitrack, service brake assist, service traction control notifications where my odometer reading is as well as abs and electronic stabilitycontrol illuminations almost immediately after shifting my vehicle into drive and turning and it is during motion. Also there is grinding and hard and difficult braking during these illuminations. . .
Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that while driving at low speeds depressing the brake pad the vehicle hesitated to slow down and the steering wheel became hard to steer with the abs, power steering, and stabilitrak system light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to winegardner motor company Chevrolet parts 22675 washington st, leonardtown, MD 20650 (240) 256-3959 where they informed the contact that the recall was fixed back in 2014. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,495. Dr.
Body control module / object detection module that controls side and rear collision detection is disabled due to corrosion from water damage after normal everyday use. Safety issue.
The electrical system started to trip out. All the cars systems are blinking on and off.
When I start my car my epb is stuck to my rotors and will not disengage while driving or when I apply the brake. I am in fear that my brakes will catch fire from the fiction. The recall that was on this issue, when my VIN was checked it said my car wasn't affected by this but clearly it is. The recall said the dealer needs to update the electronic parking brake software but they will not do it because my car has a salvage title. Also my car won't go over 50mph because the brakes are engaged and wont release.
Takatarecall- crunk my car up to go to work and the service stabilitrak message was on. No indicate in gear shift. When I attempted to put car in gear it would jerk like the transmission was stuck. I attempted to drive to the dealership and the car would not pick up speed on the highway. I had to return back home and have the car towed.
Today is the second time in 6 months that my car has done this. 2014 chevy Impala 62,000 miles, 4 cylinder. I was driving on the highway at 65 miles an hour and first the "service stabilitrak" warning comes up. Then the "engine power reduced" warning appears. The engine will not go above 20 mph at this point. This is very dangerous especially if you are on the highway at speeds of 65 and suddenly you have no power! I took it to my mechanic who could find nothing wrong with the car. He told me to pull over and shut the car off and restart it. I did that and the check engine light is on but I did get my engine power back. I'm terrified driving this car. Someone is going to get killed in this situation. I read all over the internet about this same problem and nothing is being done about it. This should be a recall!.
Driving in highway and the power steering wheel becomes extremely hard to turn move it completely electric shut off it was in dangerous situation vehicle running and and can't even move the steering wheel dashboard showed power steering need service. Went to side of highway for few mins and went back to car and turn on work back to normal this will be the second time happen 1st was on the garage turn engine but steering wheel wont move at all verh hard. . .
While driving vehicle on interstate after work a burning smell was noticed followed by the stabilitrak, abs and service power steering lights came on, which made the vehicle very hard to turn. Took vehicle to a Chevrolet dealership believing it was a recall due to research online, service department stated the recall was fixed so they reprogrammed it. Upon leaving the dealership, the brakes were grinding and all the lights came back on. Took back to service and it's taken 3 days for them to try and figure out what is wrong. They've now decided it needs a new steering gear. I've researched other 2014 Impalas having a recall on steering gears but this vehicle is not listed? how is that? I feel it needs to be recalled and fixed since there's been previous recalls regarding the whole electrical steering system, steering modules, and steering gears. The service department is saying it is going to be $2,800 to fix.
I was driving on the interstate at approx 70 mph when the power steering quit working. Two warning messages came on stating that the "power steering needed to be serviced", the "stabilitrack needed to be serviced" and the abs warning light came on. The car became difficult to steer. I had my son and a neighbor's child in the car with me. It was not a safe condition.
Having problems with my car when I do a turn in sterring wheel it makes a craking sound I hve changed brakes and other part in order to fix but did not solve the problem , also I braked hard once and the brakes locked and stayed that way I had to get vehicle towed because of this issue and this happen before new brakes, also when I turn all the light turn os as for brakes turning and other things.
While driving, the power steering, abs and stabiitrak all became nonfunctional and the problem has persisted for about a week following the onset. This occurred while driving in a straight line, with no turning involved.
Warning indicator lights began flashing on the dash and warning lights in the mirrors flashed randomly. Gm dealer said it was a sensor that water had leaked in and corroded inside. Said it was safe to drive and would take a week to get the part. The next day it shut off after about one minute when started with the remote start. When driving on the street more indicator warnings came airbag, traction control, parking brake, etc. ; the a/c came on by itself; the headlights, heater, and turn signals stopped working. Stopped the car and shut it off for about an hour. After starting it with the key and running it for about 3 minutes, it shut itself off. Once started again, would only move about a foot and then stopped sharply, like the brakes had been slammed on. Did this several times. Parked it again and had it towed to the dealer. They still say it's the sensor problem and will be $1200 to fix. They did not investigate the issue further although it is clearly a safety problem.
Made rh turn and car stalled and jerked struggling to move. Car recovered but was having problems. Made lh turn and sevice warning "stabilitrack" came on with "loss of engine power" as well as the check engine light and traction control and stabilitrack lights came on. Barely able to get car moving. Was able to get car moving but had to drive with flashers on due to the jerkyness of the engine loosing power. Got car to home approx 1. 5 miles. Noticed grinding noise coming from under car. And almost no power trying to get car in the drive way. Very dangerous situation. This happened when car was traveling at speeds of zero to 40 mph.
Body control module that controls side and rear collision detection is disabled due to corrosion from water damage after normal everyday use. Safety issue.
