general problems of the 2014 Chevrolet Impala

I have push to start car. On my lunch I starting my car and I immediately notice the rpm went to 2500, which is high and it went up to 3000 and then the warning light flashed stability track error and check engine and swerving light I took a pic. I turn car off and wait a few min turned car back on and it was fine. No errors drove to get lunch and back no issues. Then on leaving work s ame thing happened but the error didn't go away. I was able to shift out of gear. Hard knocking, gear shifter light all white no clue what gear it was in I moved to another parking spot but was slow moving very delayed. Parked and now waiting for tow truck.

I was in a car accident and the airbags did not deploy.

Unknown but I believe the sealed transmission is malfunctioning.

Fourth time I had submitted this text so this one will be vague. I've had to repair my stuts and shocks and brakes to my vehicle due to ongoing issues with tires while divingand hitting small speesbumps and potholes. I did replace low performance tires and still was an issue with my struts and shocks when I drive causing me to hit a bump or a small hole and diverts me to the next lane of ongoing traffic also I had to my battery replaced twice. To find out that it was only due to corrosion and the battery cables slipping was frustrating cause I did replace the battery and key fob battery already. Car wouldn't start and when it did it took forever hours to restart and engine still seems to get bogged down in ongoing traffic. Which was the prior issue no power no matter how hard I press the gas. I took to autozone and they did a reading which came back that everything was okay including the battery which was obviously not okay. It was leaking fluid and I have already replaced year and half ago due to same issue. They cables seem to slip over time on its own. What to do? thank you for your time to look into this issue. Had a new catalyst converter installed new up steam down steam 02 sensor and it say catalytic converter system is below threshold bank one had numerous parts put on and the engine light won’t stay off I don’t have a lot of money to keep fixing it the light goe out for a couple days come back on.

When pulling up to a stoplight the car would often downshift, surge with power, and nearly overpower the brakes. The car started losing oil from its rear main seal. When I finally had the seal replaced the repair shop found that pieces of the thrust bearing were laying in the oil pan. The engine and transmission had to be removed from the vehicle in order to replace the thrust bearing. They showed me a box full of parts, but I did not keep any.

While driving the car electrical system will lose all power and reset. This happens often.

The 2014 chevy Impala is dangerous. When the rocker arm control valve and related parts fail or the camshaft solenoids and sensors fail the car will drive rough and eventually just cut off in the middle of traffic highway or residential. This is what it did on me, putting me in a very dangerous position. The economic loss is still devastating financially as all 2. 5 and 3. 6 engines arent covered by gm special warranty but they should be all covered. My VIN number was not included when it should be.

5th cylinder misfire caused by broken valve. Also not shifting right caused by transmission solenoid.

It was a recall issued in 2014 for stabilitrak for bad grounds on my chevy Impala and I went to chevy about it and paid for the diagnostics to check and they told me it was the transmission that I needed. Also, the paper doesn't tell me I needed a transmission fixed, so I took it to 3 different transmission shops and they said it was the ground that was bad. But I was not paying for it and it was a recall issued in 2014 that is happening and is happening to several others as well. I called the gm and asked if its anything they can do about it since it was unde recall they are saying no. And the I have to go pay for diagnostics again so they can see what it is because it may not be same and I did before and chevy said it was the transmission and the other shops said the transmission is in great shape it was the grounds thats bad and that if the issue was under a recall it should be done again. I take this as safety issue and it puts me and my family in danger and it is my only transportation . So I have my son picking me for work.

Vehicle is idling hard on start ups and shutting off when brake. Restarts but will shut off again when I brake.

Engine variable timing solenoid failure. Currently no parts available due to extremely high failure rate and not currently creating new parts. Leaving the car lacking acceleration and at risk for possible internal damage. Failure at speed over 4000 rpm.

And there was a water intrusion in the side sensor module the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 130,000. Ap.

My wife was dropping our kids off at school and own her way back home the car started smoking. She was able to pull into a walmart. I got the car towed to a elite auto repair shop in cypress, TX. I was told that my car needed a engine variable valve timing oil control valve but they had to order the part. This happened in November 2019 and it's now February 2020 and the part still hasn't come in. While looking for the part myself I found that many people are dealing with the same issue. Because this was my only means of transportation I'm now forced to rent cars until I can get my car fixed and I have absolutely no idea when I'm going to get my car back.

My car was taken to be inspected by courtesy Chevrolet. They clearly documented that I did have a problem with the catalytic converter. There has been past saftey recalls on the catalytic converter cracking. According the the document that I was given it clearly states that it was a welding failure. The part that is currently on the the car is the original part that was put on the part when it was being made. I have been trying to get the issue fixed however everyone says that its a factory problem and should let them fix this. My car is starting to wear out the longer I wait and need for the problem to be corrected by gm.

Oil control solenoid valve failure causing loss of power, instability at all speeds, and surging of engine. Gm does not have any parts to repair this item and does not have a eta on when they will get them, there are no aftermarket options availible either due to the rate of failure. Gm part# 12633613.

Faulty rocker arm oil control valve, code p2646. Gm refuses to recall though it's known issue. Gm does not have part nor are they producing it, but there's numerous complaints online and this is a major safety issue. How am I supposed to fix it and make my car safe if they won't make the part? either they recall it or they pay for fix at dealership. I live in howard beach, nyc and saw an odd thing on line involving a nypd 106 which is our local precinct there where one of their Chevrolet models there had a like mechanical malfunction and it exploded there. It was so close to that thing in 1996 with twa flight 800 there remember that? besides that, they had photos on google photos of the nypd 106 car there all exploded and parked by the curb with the cause a mechanical malfunction like remember twa flight 800 in 1996 there with the plane there the mechanical malfunction made the plane explode there. Around 100,000 miles (about 5 years old) I started receiving a side detection system warning and ignored it for a couple of months because I didn't feel like I was dependent on the blind spot warnings. One morning I started my vehicle and I got an error message for about every sensor on the car. The car started it but the engine was running rough. Luckily, I was able to make it to a mechanic. They found out that the electrical system was shorting out due to the bad side detection system sensor. I had to pay almost $750 to replace the bad sensor. The worst part is now about 18,000 miles later, I'm getting the same side detection system error. It must be a serious design flaw if the replacement part is lasting less than 20,000 miles and less than year. Now, I have to balance wasting another $750 versus my electrical system shorting out due to the failing sensor - hopefully, this shorting out doesn't occur during heavy traffic and cause an issue. A few simple internet searches shows that many car owners are having this issue, I can't believe the government doesn't force chevy to issue a recall.

On October 4 while driving on a 2 lane highway in ash flat, arkansas,my 2014 Chevrolet Impala's engine quit running suddenly. I had no power whatsoever. Fortunately, I was able to reach the shoulder of the road. After turning the key off I then back on I was able to start the engine. It seems to be okay. I shudder to think what could have happened on a busy interstate. Needless to say, I am apprehensive about driving this vehicle in heavy traffic. I noticed there have been two other similar incidents reported on same year/model cars, I have 55,000. Miles on my vehicle.

While I was driving 60mph on an interstate my car notification screen displayed "service stabilitrak"/ "engine power reduced". . . Then my car acceleration seemed to have died and car slowed all the way down to around 20 mph with the gas pedal diwn to the floor. . . A big semi truck was behind me and had to break and swerve around me while blowing his horn. . . I was nearly killed.

When driving in traffic, my stabili track light sensor light came on and my reduced engine power light also came on and couldn't accelerate in traffic. I turned into a parking lot and restarted the car. Same thing happened again. I have on star, reported the problem.

It's shutting off while driving.

My Impala 2014 suddenly says 'service stabilitrak' in the display and the engine power drastically reduces. I have see this in forums that is a common issue with gm cars and it happened to me couple of times. This is a very dangerous issue when happens at freeways or any faster traffic routes.

I have a 2014 Impala limited I started having problems within 6 months after I bought the vehicle from bergstrom Chevrolet in wisconsin it was involving the abs anti-lock stability track and traction control and the braking and steering we're all feeling and locking up while I was driving it presented and problems and endangering my life and the life of any passengers in the vehicle the brakes will lock up and there was no warning before I locked up no lights came on and it would pull to the left or pull to the right depending on which abs was locking up and it was fixed one time at the dealership then it was fixed again at the dealership later maybe about another 3 to 6 months after and went up for the same thing again and the parts were replaced now I again have had nothing but problems with the braking system. Also the valve that controls the pressure in the fuel tank malfunctioned which caused the car to run irrraticaly it would start hard,stop running at all stops rough ideling and unable to pump gas into the car without the gas pump stopping continuously making the time that it would take to fill the gas tank 3 to 4 times longer than it did that was fixed and it is malfunctioning again. I'm on my fourth time of having my car anti-lock brake system failing on my car multiple systems including the electrical system failing. The dash lights would go off on. The exterior lights going off and on. The car has been off of the streets and unable to be driven many times. I have taken my car in to the dealership from where I purchased it from. By the third time my car warranty had expired. Then everything was still not repaired all the systems were not ever working correctly. And now the repairs were needed to be paid in full by myself. The cost to me had just begun when it should have been resolved. In excess of $6,000 was what it would cost me the third time I had the Impala in for everything and now it's gone out again and I'm having to get this repaired.

At 70 mph vehicle slowed on its own. Vehicle information center read "stabilitrak and engine power is reduced". Got yellow traction control sysytem light on the instrument panel with a "malfunction indicator light" below the speedometer. Engine running rough at ashland, va exit. Engine was shut down then restarted with same warnings as before. Approximately 45 mins later restarted to have a local Chevrolet dealer look at the car. On restart, all warnings and indicator lights except for the "malfunction indicator light" were out and engine ran normally. Dealer guessed that it was probably a "glitch" and it was probably ok to drive. The 800 or so miles to sarasota were without problems. On 8/5/2013 took car to local dealer approximately 3 miles from my home. On entering the dealer's parking lot at approximately 10 mph the problem reappeared I. E. "engine power reduced with stabilitrak" with warning lights as before. This is a safety issue as it can happen at any time!!.
