Blind spot detection system warning sensor (object sensor/ control module) on my vehicle has gone out. I was driving and all of a sudden my dash goes black. Then it cuts back on going haywire, all sorts of lights and warnings came on. I pulled over to check the car out, turning it off to see if a restart would fix the issue and the car would not start. So I had to tow to the dealer which in this pandemic was closed. When the guy at the dealer told me it was bad he said it goes bad from getting wet. Cars are supposed to get wet no? after looking online someone said that gm knows about this problem and redesigned the part to work better, yet they want me to pay almost $1000 to fix a problem they fixed for the same reason. This is ridiculous.
I have a chevy Impala 2015 with 1401k miles. I am experiencing gm bulletin n172097060 side blind zone alert module water intrusion issue. I was told by both the dealer (macmulkin Chevrolet in nashua) and gm that my issue is not covered due to the fact that my car has exceeded the 80k miles. I told them that I did not receive the notice until my car well exceeded the 80k mileage. The problem is getting extremely worse. It's effecting the whole electrical system of the car. The car's instrument panel is flashing all of the sensor alerts intermittently and my car will not start until I have it towed to a mechanic and they clear the faults. This has happened twice.
