general problems of the 2016 Chevrolet Impala

The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that she was able to drive the vehicle; however, she noticed that smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe was dark blue. The contact stated that upon arriving at her residence, her husband depressed the onstar on demand diagnostic button and the failure was diagnosed as an emission system failure. The contact notified the dealer of the failure and an appointment was scheduled for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 54,922.

Electrical glitches and full loss of engine power wile driving. Dealer don’t know how to fix it. Very unsafe to drive.

My VIN should have been included in this: n182186881-01 - special coverage evaporator core icing, leak revised warranty section I have had the issue for many years due to not receiving the notice. The car leaks, hisses, smokes and does not cool at all. I was told I must only take it to them for 250 diagnostic but they also said it was a havoc reprogramming that cost the 2,500 to fix. I have a estimate from a triple a recommended mechanic that says its the evaporator coil. My miles just hit 80,000 but its been going on for years because I haven't had the money to fix it and make payments. Chevy arbitrator states the miles are low and the dealer I bought it from, conly in brighton michigan, should put my VIN on the recall list. They say they don't know how/will not. The arbitrator didn't give me on digit for her call back extension. I do have proof of the car having no air at 49,000 miles when a mechanic couldn't find the issue because it was to far down in the car. I don't trust taking the car to them after being diagnosed without seeing the car. Bbb auto said I exceeded milage but I wouldn't have if I would have been informed ASAP my VIN should have been in the recall. I have the same make and type of car. Why did they exclude me? I hardly drive the car and was an essential employee . Everything was closed I was in the year allowed and under the miles if I would have got the notice please help.

I was driving on the freeway and the reduce engine power came on, my vehicle immediately start slowing down and I couldn't go over 19 mph !! very scary and unsafe and gm has failed to take care the problem!!.

Vehicle begin to jerk when accelerating. Took the vehicle to the dealership and was advised there was internal damage to the transmission. The dealership advised they are unaware of what caused the internal damage. This was repaired 9 months later while driving on the highway and the vehicle begin to flash a warning to turn off vehicle. Engine light came on as well. I took the vehicle to the dealership and was advised there is internal damage to the engine. Dealership advised they are unsure what caused this.

These Impalas are downshifting on gears 2/3 and when trying to accelerate it is not shifting as they should this is from multiple auto shops and Chevrolet dealerships in dearborn and detour michigan are aware and both are staying they are getting alor if complaints about this issue I am. Not one of those individuals who have 4000 just sitting around I am also not working due to covid I have only had this car 15 months when this issues started gm and Chevrolet need to do a recall to check and replace and provide loaner vehicles at their expense.

Went to start the car and the side detection system went out and is causing electrical problems in the car. Side detaction, computer, ignition, etc.

Its was round 9:00 p. M. When I was driving down a two lane road, going around a curve when all my interior lights(dash board, radio, and gear shift lights)turn off for about three seconds. The car felt as it was completely off but powered back up and continued to drive normal.

When traveling on the highway or local roads. My vehicle would warn me to shift into park to stop the engine. The after 3 notices it would shutdown completely.

I was stopped at the top of the hill on a private road. When I took my foot off the brake and pressed the accelerator, nothing happened. The car began to roll backwards and I pressed down on the brake. The brake was very weak and it took 50-60 feet and all of my pressure on the brake pedal to bring the car to a stop. After I stopped, I realized that the engine had turned off and the ignition was int he off position. I rotated the key in the ignition back to the start position to start the engine. I continued back up the hill normally after the engine was started. Luckily, there were no cars behind me on the hill or they would've been hit.
