My blind spot detectors went out, now as a result most of the electrical stuff no longer works. The car powers on and drains the battery randomly and the speedometer doesn’t work. Every light comes on from front camera, abs, and even power steering. I didn’t feel safe taking my kids to school and now I don’t feel I should pay $1,300 out of pocket.

Have had issues 2 times since owning this vehicle, both times sensor was replaced by dealership. Was told by service at dealership that this is a known issue for gm. Dealership found side detection modules swelled and connections corroded. Again for the 3rd time since owning this car from new. They, the dealership, cost the replacement of the module at $980. 00 including labor. To fix an issue they have known about for years.

I have had the blind spot modules replaced two times already and they are out for the third time. I have had to replace them like just over every 2 years. This time I had loan my car to my daughter, due to any accident she had with a deer, and had her four kids in the car when multiple modules started shutting down and nearly leaving her stranded. When I was able to inspect the car I found the the blind spot modules where extremally corroded and showed signs of melting to almost catching fire. I believe that these are a safety issue, and need to be recalled and problem fixed with a reliably solution. I am a ase certified master technician and have been for well over 38 years. And have seen many of these gm modules go bad multicable times.
Side detection system failure. Special coverage n172096060. Also there is a creaking noice in front area once I put car in drive. When I press down on brake there is a lot of vibration on the left driver side.
The front camera collision, lane departure, blind spot warning system are all part of an electronic system that warns the driver. In 2014, Chevrolet located these modules in the rear bumper and did not sufficiently protect them from the weather elements, so water gets into them and can cause a fire, and failures from losing your dash gauges to the vehicle not starting. Chevy was nice enough to issue a service action, but limited to a 6 month time frame for repairs. They issued n172097060, which was available from April 2019 to January 2020. This was nice if it failed during that time. Mine failed for the first time in October 2017, which was repaired under warranty, and again in April of 2020, which was just out of the warranty period. Chevy said they would not cover this safety issue again because I was out of the n172097060 recall due to time, not mileage. I believe that this should be covered for a longer period of time because it is a safety issue. I was reading that there was a letter sent, but I never received it. I would have brought the car to the dealer the next day, knowing about the problemm.
