Failure Date: 12/16/2013

The brake pedal went to the floor, due to a hole in the brake line caused by external corrosion. Luckily it was not at a stop street, or there would have been an accident. It occured on the highway, so my wife was able to slowly drive home. I had to have all of the steel lines replaced for the vehicle to be safely driven again.

Failure Date: 08/30/2012

The contact owns a 2000 Chevrolet K2500. The contact stated that while at a complete stop with the brakes depressed, the brakes failed without warning. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop where the contact was advised that the brake lines were corroded. The brake lines were replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to take vehicle to the dealer for repairs. The vehicle was not taken to dealer. The approximate failure and current mileage was 130,000.

3 Brake Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings problem

Failure Date: 08/18/2012

Steel brake line ruptured while braking going down a steep hill with approximately 1,000# of cargo. This is the third such incident of a ruptured/leaking line on this truck. All lines were original equipment before failure. Brake pads/discs were replaced and rotors machined between the first and second brake line failure. The emergency brake was used to successfully stop the vehicle.

Failure Date: 06/13/2010

2000 Chevrolet 2500 pick up truck - third occurrence of significantly reduced braking ability due to corrosion of brake lines. Prior occurrences of brake line corrosion leading to significantly reduced braking ability occurred in oct 2007 and Aug, 2009 (same problem - different brake line sections).

Failure Date: 06/16/2009

Truck lost ability to stop effectively. Truck was taken to local repair shop. Mechanic found front steel brake lines had ruptured from corrosion. Brake lines were replaced.
