The power steering locked when the driver attempted to turn the steering wheel to the left. Please provide any additional information.

Power steering defect on 1997 chevy lumnia. I read where there was a recall on this but never received a notification. Mine is leaking and growling.

When driving at low speeds or making turns, vehicle will intermittenly lose the power steering function, making it difficult for consumer to maintain control on roadways. Ts.

Lack of ability to steer auto. Consumer states power steering failed.

This was a rental car from almo rental center. Consumer was traveling about 55mph on highway and a drunken driver hit him from behind. Vehicle went into a slid off the side off an enbankment. Vehicle was rolling in air and landed into a lava field. One of passenger's sustained head injuries from roof.

When driving the car in wet weather, the power steering cuts out causing an extremely hazardous condition. I have ben told that this is a long term problem with front drive Chevrolet vehicles and that there is no available correction. I can't understand how this problem can be allowed to exist without a recall. My wife and I have had a few near accidents and avoid driving the car unless it is necessary. I got in touch with Chevrolet and was told to bring it into the dealer for evaluation. Since last Friday (the dealer did not fix it) the car has lost power steering on at least three occasions. I would appreciate your help as I feel I am driving a deathtrap. Thank you!.

Problems getting power steering gear lower pinion bearing separation recall repairs complete. The consumer's vehicle exhibited characteristics of the recall. The consumer was unable to make left turns but had no problems making right turns. The consumer request a rental until her vehicle was repaired. The consumer was told that the manufacturer would not authorize a rental. The consumer indicated that she was not in a financial position to rent a vehicle.

After recall for the power steering assembly 02 v 286 000 was performed the power steering failed again.

While veering around a curve to the left steering wheel turned to the right. This occurred while driving 40-45 mph, and resulted in the vehicle hitting the guard rail and running into a ditch.

Power steering has failed about a half dozen times. If I was not a pretty strong man, car would become uncontrollable. Power steering has failed when making turns after running through mudpuddles or standing water. Takes tremendous effort to turn. Possibility of someone getting seriously injured or killed. Just sent message to Chevrolet via their website. Just have not taken the time to find out about it.
