While driving on the interstate while using the cruise control, the vehicle started increasing speed and rpm’s. I could not turn off cruise by braking or using the off button on steering wheel. I had to put it in neutral which caused the engine to redline in rpm’s, so I could use brakes to safely stop on the side of the interstate highway. I turned off the engine and opened the hood to look inside. I turned ignition back on and immediately the engine revved to redline rpm’s again.
Driving the car it just shuts off which results in no power no steering and no brakes possibly an ignition switch problem.
The car's anti-theft system (indicated on the dashboard lights) will randomly lock up the engine. Following a massive list of online suggestions from other chevy owners who had the same problem, I learned to wait for 10-15 minutes with the key in the ignition (lights/radio on, no engine) before the anti-theft indicator disappears and the car can start again. Sometimes, I will have to repeat the process 2-3 times. This has been happening randomly for over 2 years despite taking it into a chevy dealer for repairs twice. They claimed it was a battery issue and charged me over $500 to fix nothing; the engine would lock up again within a month. A cursory google search shows that this has affected hundreds if not thousands of gm vehicles, some even claiming the anti-theft lock engaged while they were driving. Please put some serious investigation into the matter so people like me can stop getting price gouged and stuck in freezing weather for gm's incompetence.

I have to replace my signal lights every 2 to 3 months and they look like they melted inside also I have problems with my fuel like my car is not getting fuel while driving. And I'm angry because I've had my car for about 9 years and no one has ever mailed a recall to my home for anything on my car and I may be putting my life in danger. I learned about these recalls from my insurance company.
I was driving home with my daughter on interstate route 80 when I noticed my car was emitting a thick black smoke trail. I immediately took the next exit and pulled into a parking lot. My daughter and I then jumped out of the smoke filled car. We then ran away as we watched the inferno take over and then the car suddenly exploded. Blowing back the hood and smashing the windshield.

The problem that I am having with my vehicle, is with the ignition switch. The key will not turn, I have to shake the key and push on the gas a couple of times before the key turns on the switch. I do not know if my vehicle will be covered under the recall list, but if it is and I pay to have my vehicle repaired, can I be reimburse for the repair cost?.
In the middle lane of I-85 atlanta, 3:30 p. M. . We were in bumper to bumper traffic, stop and go, very slow traffic. Suddenly, my car shook and then cut off. After putting on hazard lights, I tried several times to start it back and it would start, shake and shut off. I finally got it started and turned off ac and traveled the rest of the way. Needless to say, it was very frightening and dangerous in the middle lane of rush hour traffic.
Vehicle disabled itself while driving. Pass-lock will not allow car to restart. On going problem.
My 17 year old son was practicing driving on a main road when the car starting going less the 10mph while we were do a little over 45mph. We put on our hazard lights and sat on the road for about 10 minutes I then got behind the drivers seat and drove to the nearest gas station which was less than a mile away and called aaa. Not sure if I will have my now 18 year drive the car to back and forward to college because I'm in fear that if the car stops in the middle of the street someone may hit him or he may get out the car and get hit. Signed worried parent.
I went to school to drop off kids I went to start the car an all the lights in the dash board goes on bot wont crank.
We bought a 2005 chevy Malibu classic base model from a reputable dealer. Everything was working fine until my son flipped the switch on the turn signal indicator for the lights from "auto" to full lights at night. The dash cluster illumination went out along with the radio back lighting, hvac back lighting, door lock and window switch lighting. The dome light stopped working. The dome light had burned wires and the plastic fixture was burned. Replaced it back to the harness. Fuses kept blowing. Have since tried replacing the turn indicator/lights/wiper module, the dimmer switch, and dash cluster, upon inspecting the body control module I found corroded module connectors that were corroded and burned. Now the car won't start and the suspect is the anti-theft system. This is clearly an electrical malfunction from the assembly line and thousands of dollars in waste by myself my son and others reporting across the internet with the same problems as ourselves.
The car died on the highway when it goes over 55 the fuel cuts out. The car dies and will not restart.
My wife and I have contacted chevy dealer a long time ago about safety recalls on this vehicle a long time ago and have not received any info. On when these recalls can be done. Most of these recalls state that the parts have not been sent. What can your company do about getting these resolved.

The vehicle would not start after work in the parking lot. Arranged a ride home and did some research. Went back to the vehicle and got it started with suggestions on how to reset the passlock system (security light on dash was on). The next day the vehicle won't start even after going through the reset procedure several times. This problem can leave one stranded anyplace at anytime. We live in mininesota and that can be a real problem at -20 deg. After reading about many people with the same issue, I was motivated to share this in hopes of initiating a recall for this problem.
The ignition switch to start the car is defective. The cylinder does not turn with the key at the first try nor the second try.
