Takata recall. . . The undercarriage fell down unexpectedly while driving. The most important thing is that I have been continually getting an error that my engine reduced/engine disabled and it shuts off while I'm driving on the street. I may get a few seconds of motion to get to the side of the road before it stops completely. It's happened with my child in the car and that scares me more to think it may happen again. It has happened 3 time in the past 5 weeks. I've had a tune up and a number of things replaced in the past 12 months. My engine light came on again and one of the same sensors on the engine had to be replaced again.
Car shut off after driving to the store, it wouldn't start and said service esc.
About a year ago I was driving car going around 40 miles an hr and it would just die on me, no lights came up no warning. It happened at least 6 times and every time it happened it had it towed to dealership to get checked out. I've had fuel pump, fuel relay, cam shaft sensor 2 times and other things replaced. Still same thing would happen. Died again on me had it towed to a garage and my timing chain was broken, replaced that and cam shaft sensor again. Drove away and it died on me again. The only way my car stays running is when cam shaft sensor is unplugged but engine light stays on. When car dies I have no lights that come on to tell me I have a issue, it just shuts off. I've been dealing with the car just shutting down on me for a year. I'm afraid to have other people in my car cause I don't know if or when it would happen again. When this happened I had around 92000 mile on car.
Driving 2011 chevy Malibu ltz light came on. Got message saying engine powering down. Car began to shake and speed dropped to about 20 miles per hour. Pulled into cvs pharmacy lot. Turned car off and re-started. Drove around lot for 1 minute. Just as I was about to pull off lot and enter expressway. Car shut down completely. Unable to re-start. Waited 2 hour's for tow on star road side service. Plan to have car towed Monday morning. Will check for esc recall on this car.
Vehicle shut down while driving on I 84 on route to worcester, MA. Had to coast with no power steering and avoid a truck to get over to the side. Engine started after five minutes and ran for another hr. Luckily this time, stopped for fuel and engine would not start again. Had to be to to dealer and was advised fuel pump had failed.
Engine shut off while driving on highway.
I purchased my car in Feb. Of 2012 as of today my car has been in the shop 10 different times for the same thing. The steering vibrates when you drive and it loses power when shifting. Then, I had to get a new motor in the car may 2013, then it was rattling again so I took it up there. They told me that the transmission problem was that it needed a program upgrade and that I had to pay out of pocket 60. 70 for this upgrade. Two days later the whole car shuts down on me and they are now saying that it is an app module and it needs to be re-programed. I am tired of paying all this tow bills and fees for a car that does not run and it not safe for my kids to ride in.
