Power Steering Light On problems of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu

When I was parked I was rolling the windows with the car running and all the lights and car was cutting off. While I'm driving I lose power all my dash lights go out and while making a turn the steering wheel locks up to where I can not correct myself from turning so I have to stop in the middle of the street until the power comes back on.

While driving my Chevrolet 2013 Malibu ltz my stabiltrack light and service power steering pump light came on my dash immediately afterwards when driving at low speeds any where from zero to thirty miles per hour the car will randomly lose engine power and will stall but the electrical system will stay on but the head lights go out and the power steering will go out making the vehicle hard to turn. The car dies just about every time I am either accelerating from 0 mph to any low speed unless I slam on the gas pedal. In bumper to bumper traffic im restarting my Malibu every 3 seconds after it dies. It's is so dangerous if I have to turn and their is oncoming traffic cause the car could just die in the middle of the turn and be smashed by oncoming traffic. This happens on the street on the highway anywhere im driving . Car was taken to dealership where they held it for 2 weeks and said it was a oil pump solenoid valve being stuck. As soon as I drove off the lot I didnt even get around the corner and the car died at a low speed and the stability light came on along with the power steeri my pump and check engine light. Vehicle has to been taken in several times for cam shaft position sensor failure also. Car failures have been common since the date I purchased this vehicle.

My 2013 Malibu keeps having power steering failure. The power steering light flashed and stayed on. At the same time it lock the steering wheel while driving. I see this is a major problem happening with the Malibu 2013 models and owners have been complaining about this defect to the dealers. Not sure if there has been any recalls on this; however, the defects are causing people driving the Malibu to have accidents because the power steering locks as soon as the power steering light is displayed. The car also seems to stall a bit when the light comes on. The wheels are locked and I cannot turn the wheels at all until it unlocks on its own.

On numerous occasions my 2013 Malibu has lost power causing a steering issue. It could be while driving, turning, stopping or accelerating. The car will lose power to the touch screen radio causing the screen to go black, then I lose the steering momentarily and then everything will come back on. This can happen once or sometimes it continues to happen which causes the service stabilitrack warning light to come on or the service power steering light to come on. This has also led to the car stalling and losing all electricity and then starting back up right away. The more electronics you use such as the blinker causes the problem to get worse and usually ends up in the car stalling. I have taken it to the dealer four separate times for this issue and nothing has been fixed. I have not had my car more than a week since August 22,2016 because I refuse to drive the car until it is fixed. The dealer is focusing on my after market remote starter which is wrong seeing there are many of the same occurrences listed on tis website.

While driving at night went to roll up power windows which in turn caused my headlights to flicker and all dashboard instruments including radio to temporarily stop working. Subsequently gets worse which each occurrence. Last occurrence automatic headlights came on and subsequently caused loss of power steering and airbag light illuminated. Gratefully was able to retain control of car. Since first occurrence it has happened at least six times and seems to happen at night or while headlights are on.

I was driving my son to work and I lost all power to my vehicle. I had no brakes, power steering and my engine light came on and battery light came on as well. I managed not get in a accident and get into a parking lot. Thank god. My backlights have had issues as well they have stayed on and have cuased me to get pulled over by the police.

While traveling primarily at interstate speeds, I notice the steering lightly "sticking" or "locking" causing the car to veer off center, mainly to the left but occasionally to the right. When I make the correction I can feel a "catch" and the steering wheel jerks in the direction of the correction. At times the problem occurs frequently and at other times infrequently.
