1 Power Assist Brake Vacuum problem

The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated while driving 65 mph as the contact was pressing on the brake pedal it became stiff and the vehicle would not stop, the contact pull the emergency brake handle and the vehicle was able to come to a stop. The contact was able to make it home. The vehicle was diagnosed by an independent mechanic, and he stated that the vacuum pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. On a different occasion while the contact was driving 60 mph the vehicle started overheating and smoking, and the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact was able to pull over on the side of the road and shut the vehicle off. The vehicle was towed to the contact home. An independent mechanic diagnosed the vehicle and stated that the engine needed to be replaced due to metal fragments from the defected vacuum pump. The dealer was contacted, and they stated that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed by the dealer. The manufacturer was contacted, and they stated that the vehicle was not under recall and there was nothing that they could do. The failure mileage was 141,943.
