Power steering assist fails at slow speeds making parking difficult and turning the wheel while stopped difficult. Steering wheel binds and is resistant when this happens, and is most most notable after vehicle is hot and has reached temperature. Some clatter noise occurs when this happens. I did complain to the dealer in detail while under warranty, but was told that nothing was found. Warranty has since expired , and I suspect that this problem either has no solution or would not be handled with a satisfactory outcome. I have read that others have experienced this type of failure with the 2007 Monte Carlo, prompting me to notify you that this may be a wide spread safety issue affecting this model vehicle.
