While driving vehicle lost of steering happens then comes back. Almost causing accident especially while driving around turns.
There have been several issues with the intermediate steering shaft and don't know how much of a safety concern it is but I feel with the amount of people who have had problems with it that it is something that needs to be checked into possible recall. I have had to have mine replaced at only 26,000 miles because from my understanding it is due to a poor design.
When exiting the expressway and turning left on to new road the power steering lost assist, almost hit wall on overpass, then lost assist 2 more times on low spees turns, bad steering rack at 49000 miles.

I have learned that when my defrost is on and I hit a water puttle my power steering goes out for about 30 seconds at a time. I use the defrost to keep my windows from fogging up in the rain. Took me a while to figure out if I turn off the defrost it wouldn't happen. But then my windows fog up! took it to my chevy dealership and they told me that was normal! I work on cars for a living. That is dangerous! I'm sure gm knows about this and maybe even some pal have died from this happening? giving what is going on now with gm can you please make them fix this now please?.
