On February 14th 2003 I was involved in an accident where I was hit from behind. The backs of the seats do not lock in place so when hit from behind the seatback also flew forward with me. I feel this problem with the seatbacks made my inujuries worse than what they should have been.

Driver's and passenger's seats fail to lock on track. Seat moves forward, and can quickly interfere with driving ability. Dealer was notified. Please provide more information.
Driver side seatback does not lock. Dealer advised consumer that driver's side seat would only lock up on impact. Only way for a passenger to enter or exit rear seats is if driver's side seat is pulled up. Please additional information.

Both front back rest would move while traveling (would not lock in place) vehicle taken to independence repairs shop for repairs; condition was still reoccurring. Independence repairs shop took vehicle to dealer and was informed that the seat only would lock when brake are applyed. Can NHTSA share some light on this matter.

Defective driver's and passenger's seatbacks moved unexpectedly which could cause a loss of vehicle control. Also, a "grunt" noise when making a turn which may indicate a problem with the steering system, but the dealer said it was normal.
During hard braking, the seats fold forward throwing the occupants toward the dash. Dealer stated that the condition was normal and the seat would lock during a crash.
Driver's and passenger's seatbacks do not lock in the upright position. Seats were designed to only lock up upon applying brakes. Please give any further details.
The front passenger bucket seat fell forward during normal and abrupt stops. The seat back locking mechanism was either missing or not working properly.
