One problem related to front driver side air bag inflator has been reported for the 1997 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Inflater module. The consumer stated the inflator module was designed poorly. The wires break due to wear in the steering wheel, probably from tilting of steering wheel. This causes the air bag computer to short out.
