Four problems related to tire have been reported for the 1997 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving at 65 mph consumer heard a loud popping sound. Then, lost control of the vehicle and almost collided with a utility pole. Upon further inspection consumer noticed a baseball sized hole in the right rear tire, and tread separation from the tire. There were no injuries involved with this incident. Manufacturer and dealer were notified.
When the consumer was trying to change lanes, the vehicle began to wobble due to the front left tire had separated from vehicle (ohio traffic crash report #10-90-543).
When making a sharp left turn, the right front tire rubs against the frame and the sway bar, which eats up the tire. Dealer stated that the problem was normal and there is no remedy for the problem. Manufacturer states the same.
