Seven problems related to front seat recliner have been reported for the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While coming to a stop seat went forward due to broken plastic on seat latch.
The driver's seat was too loose and moved back and forth while driving, causing a distraction to the consumer. ( the seat would not lock into place) the left front seat manual adjuster plastic clip had broken inside and was replaced.
While driving 70 mph the driver's seat collapsed and the right side of the seat dropped down with a startling unexpected shock causing the driver to swerve, the damaged supporting parts of the seat have been replaced. Cj.
While driving on state highay went to apply brakes and driver's seat latching device broke, made seat go forward which caused consumer to go forward into the dashboard, injurying the knees. Contacted the dealer and manufacturer, vehicle still under warranty.
Front seat went from full back to front at stop light part layed under seat.
Driver's seat will not lock in place, broke four times, and still not fixed.
The latch on driver's seat which holds the seat in place broke, causing the seat to move back and forth. It will not lock. Also causes seatbelt failure.
