Front Suspension Shock Absorber problems of the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado

Four problems related to front suspension shock absorber have been reported for the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Front Suspension Shock Absorber problem

Failure Date: 09/07/2003

A banging noise was heard while driving. The consumer found the shock absorber mount detached from the frame and part of the frame was missing on the front left side of the vehicle.

2 Front Suspension Shock Absorber problem

Failure Date: 10/22/2002

Consumer states abs module made a loud noise, while pulling away from a curve. Took to dealer and they disconnected the module. Consumer feels unsafe driving with no abs. Please provide any further information. Mr.

3 Front Suspension Shock Absorber problem

Failure Date: 08/25/2002

Consumer states that the abs light has illuminated. When turning off the engine the abs pump continues to run. Dealer has been contacted.

4 Front Suspension Shock Absorber problem

Consumer called complaining about the abs system on the vehicle. Dealer was contacted and stated that the abs system pump went out and it will cost $820. 00 to replace and that is only for the pump and not labor. Ts.
