Three problems related to horn assembly have been reported for the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Horn failed. The horn became high pitched and then failed altogether.
When applying brakes at any speed brake pedal goes down more than it should, it feels spongy, and braking distance is extended. Dealer has replaced front and rear rotors 3 times. Once due to rust, other times dealer did not know what else to do. Front and rear pads were replaced twice. Consumer states there is a noise in the steering, also seat belt was hanging up, the underhood lamp was inoperative, an horn acting erractically.
Consumer notices excessive wear of the front brake pads and rotors. There is no prior warning indicating the brakes needed replacing. Also, consumer is having problems with the horn assembly, the horn is inoperative. Consumer has contacted the dealer. Please provide any further details.
