Three problems related to exterior lighting have been reported for the 2000 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The abs braking system goes stiff at low speeds. I have to jam on the brakes extremely hard in order for them to stop, the brakes eventually will stop after a 3 to five more feet. The abs braking system is extremely dangerous and serves no purpose. The vehicle works better after disabling the abs brake system. Please recall all chevy Silverados and tahoes due to abs braking system issues.
Both daytime running light bulb failed. Throttle body pedal hard to push down/replaced, steering shaft noise/replaced, replaced washer fluid tank, replaced propeller shaft.
Tailgate cables broke while standing on tailgate loading materials-no injury (July 2003). Left front day time running light blew and burnt the socket. Have seen numerous other same models with same problem (2001). Back passenger doors on the extended cab do not fully lock during 30 degree weather and below until the interior heats up. (Dec-Feb 2000-2004) left front wheel hub bearing is defective after 38,000 miles. (Dec 2004).
