13 Gasoline Engine problem

Chevrolet has denied that their 99 and 00 Chevrolet Silverados do not have a problem with thier new engines. I know of numerous other owners who have this problem which Chevrolet acknowledges as a normal sound. I have been told by the dealer that the truck can not be fixed because the new ones make the same noise. I have driven other compriable trucks and they do not have the engine ping/knock. The dealer also said that the noise will eventually go away, but I have seen trucks with 19000 with the noise continuing. This problem could increase emmisions if it is indeed a ping/knock. If this problem persists with no fix from Chevrolet, I could have enginge damage caused by the ping/knock that will not be covered by the warranty. Thank you for your time.
