Two problems related to power steering fluid have been reported for the 2001 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
At 35 mph power steering went out. Vehicle was towed to dealer. Power steering unit was leaking and had to be replaced. On 17 June 2002 power steering went out again, it was found to be leaking. Vehicle at dealer at this time.
Power steering fluid is leaking onto rack and pinion steering, rendering vehicle difficult to steer. Dealer has inspected vehicle.
