Power Window problems of the 2001 Chevrolet Silverado

Four problems related to power window have been reported for the 2001 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Power Window problem

Failure Date: 02/07/2006

2001 chevy Silverado, driver and passenger windows freeze up in cold weather and wont open (electric windows) until vehicles interior warms up the glass usually 20 to 25 minutes.

2 Power Window problem

Failure Date: 03/06/2005

Was rolling the passenger side window down while backing up with trailer when I heard a noise and the window stopped mid-way. Needed to purchase the entire power window assembly instead of purchasing a simple cable.

3 Power Window problem

Failure Date: 10/30/2004

Drivers side window crapped out. Window doesn't go down, cable broken at motor drive. The truck is a 2001 chevy Silverado, it's only 3, well technically 4 years old. The part to replace it from the dealership is well over rated in price. You have to purchase the whole component. Just the cable can not be purchased. It's my understanding that this is a regular occurrence with these window regulators.

4 Power Window problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2004

Driver side electric window making excessive noise , like the glass is being scratched by something in the door, or the roller assembly needs greased.
