Tire Sidewall problems of the 2001 Chevrolet Silverado

Four problems related to tire sidewall have been reported for the 2001 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Tire Sidewall problem

Failure Date: 01/13/2005

The vehicle started shaking uncontrollably without warning,the driver was able to pull over. The driver noticed that the right side tire sidewall exploded. The driver was able to change the tire. The driver drove to the dealer for inspection. Firestone steeltex at 245/75r16 #dot yn11bab. Please provide additional information.

2 Tire Sidewall problem

Failure Date: 09/15/2004

The consumer noticed while inspecting the vehicle all four tire had stress marks located on the exterior of the sidewall wheel. The consumer has contacted the manufacturer for an appointment and inspection. Goodyear wrangler at p245/70r16 please fill in additional information on the #dot.

3 Tire Sidewall problem

Failure Date: 04/20/2002

My wife took my truck to work. At the end of the day she drove about a half mile and stopped at a stop sign. While waiting for traffic she heard a pop. When she took off the tire was flat. The sidewall blew out. There is a blowout from the rim to the pavement.

4 Tire Sidewall problem

While the consumer looked over the tires he noticed that the two front tires had bubbles on the side walls.
