Two problems related to spare tire have been reported for the 2002 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving the cable from which my spare was attached broke loose, and the tire landed to the side of the roadway. Speed was only 35 mph at the time, this happened without warning. No repairs have been made. Dealer referred to nhsta.
While the vehicle was parked. Consumer inspected the spare tire rack, and noticed cable sheared off. Spare tire rivets falling off of the tire while travelling. The spare tire was brand new never used before.
