Spare Tire problems of the 2004 Chevrolet Silverado

The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado. The consumer noticed that the spare tire was a different size than the original tire. The contact called the dealer and was informed that his spare tire was the correct spare tire size that comes with his vehicle. The failure mileage was 30,000. Update 09/10/08 upadted 09/15/08.

The spare tire was not the same size of the tires mounted on the vehicle. The consumer stated that Chevrolet does not make nor provide 17 inch spare tires for his vehicle. The 2005 vehicles now have 17 inch spare tires. The consumer asked if it is safe to make an 8000 mile journey pulling a 6000 pound trailer with two different size tires on his vehicle.
