Starting to get onto a highway and pulled into a gas station the speedometer got stuck at 40mph and would not go to zero when stopped but when started moving again it acted like 40 mph was the starting point and would not return to zero.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact was traveling 30 mph on a two lane road when the accelerator pedal was engaged, when the gas pedal was released the vehicle continued to accelerate. The speed increased up to 80 mph before the vehicle would stop. The accelerator pedal appeared to be stuck causing the contact to turn the vehicle off; however, the vehicle continued to accelerate. The contact turned the vehicle back on and off again before it began coasting to a stop. The contact took the vehicle into the dealer and was told that they were unable to diagnose the failure. When the contact drove the vehicle home, the abs light came on. The failure and current mileages were 8900.

The contact stated that when driving at various speeds and lets his foot off the accelerator, he noticed the vehicle would rev up and accelerate to 1800rpm's. This occurs on a intermittent basis. The vehicle was inspected by three different dealers and they were unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle has not been repaired.
