9 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/03/2011

I have marked power train and electrical since both are involved. I was driving home from work when my truck message center indicated (reduced engine power) . This is dangerous when my vehicle is impeded from accelerating and slowing down to no more then 20 - 25 miles per hour. Since I could of interfered with the traffic and cause an accident or bodily injury to others. A recall should be made since I have noticed a lot of other vehicles have the same scenario.

12 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/08/2011

Air conditioning just quits. Check fuses okay. Took truck to dealership and they charged $656. 27 to fix a short in the blower resistor resulting in connector melting and blower failure. Newer truck and asked dealership if under warranty or if recall, informed me there was not. Got on internet at home and found several recalls on 2007 chevy Silverado's and informed dealership through emails, about recalls and that is when I learnt our truck was manufactured in canada. Called dealership where we purchased the truck in texas to inform them of recalls and they said it did not apply to our truck because it was kilometers and we have mileage, do I sound like I am bubba? recalls are from transport canada and numbers are 2011074-exact problem our truck is having; and 2009291 deals with airbags(which I have not even attempted to address because of the run around I have already experienced. Canadian trucks should not be sold in America if recalls are not going to be honored. Fire possibility and airbag deploying are very serious safety issues. Called gm or Chevrolet, have all emails of personnel I have contacted in regards to this issue.

13 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2011

Abs does not work, light is on the dash. Airbag lights are on the dash and not sure if they are working, tailgate does not latch closed. Key does not always want to turn and we need to move it back and forth before it will start the vehicle.

14 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/31/2011

Vehicle has dual air condition (a/c) controls. The driver side starts blowing hot (heater hot) air all of a sudden. The passenger side is okay, stays cold. Even when the a/c is turned off it still blows hot air. Even with the windows open, it is still hot air coming out of the vents; like as if the the heater is on. Close the vents but still blows hot. Have to stop a few minutes and something must reset because it works okay for a while. Sometimes have to stop several times to get home or pull off to the side of the road. I live and drive in south texas. . . It gets 105 in the shade. . . 120 in a vehicle. I decided to file this because I have read on the internet many others have this same problem and now a friend of my wife's has the same problem on her Chevrolet. This is an opportunity to fix something that I believe is a design issue. To be proactive and not reactive before an accident occurs. The heat causes severe distraction. Especially if someone in the vehicle is young, elderly, ill etc. The driver is forced to keep driving. I filed a complaint with Chevrolet on 3/4/2014. Was called back and told they could not help and to report this to NHTSA.

15 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/26/2010

Air conditioner blower fan started working off and on and finally stopped working completely. Consequence was having to drive without any ac in 100 degree heat. Took it in for repair on 8/9/10 and was told that they could not locate a TSB 05-01-38-012c and that I would have to pay $100 deductible to have the repair covered by my extended warranty.

16 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/28/2010

2007 chevy Silverado 2500.

17 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2010

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated the windshield wipers would continuously fail without warning. He located a recall for the failure (NHTSA campaign id number: 10v240000-electrical system) but was unable to confirm if his vehicle was included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The current and failure mileages were approximately 72,000.

18 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/12/2010

While driving in the rain, certain electrical components will completely shut down. The components consists of the door lock, gps, radio, windows, air controls, all dash gauges, etc. In addition, several different service warnings will start flashing including which will include "service air bag", "service tire monitor, "service engine", etc. This has happened to me twice, once at 50,000 miles and just today at 56,000. The first time it happened, the dealership said it was because of a computer located under the carpet beneath the driver seat that was getting moisture in it. They cut a slit in the carpet to let it "air out" and charged me $350. 00. I later found out that it was a recall issue. But even with the carpet cutting 'fix', it appears to still be happening.

19 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2010

2007 Chevrolet Silverado. Consumer writes in regards to heated side mirrors looked as if they had over heated and burned. Bubbles, singe looking and discloration had occurred on the outer case of the mirrors the consumer stated the dealer replaced both mirrors as a goodwill gesture. However, the problem resurfaced a year later on the driver's side mirror. The dealer informed the consumer, he would have to pay for the replacement mirror. The dealer felt as though the problem was caused by the car wash having a heating system that was perhaps too hot.

20 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/21/2009

Heater blower fan control relay plug located under the passenger side dash board. When fan is on high setting the plug and wires overheat and start to burn/melt and fan relay clicks off. I inspected the plug and have seen melted/bare wires also burnt plastic on the plug. After doing some online research I noticed a lot of chevy owners are having the same problem with other chevy models and years and this has led to many vehicle fires. I have also learned that chevy had a safety bulletin out on this for the dealers but they have failed to inform the car and truck owners I have contacted several chevy dealer service departments who are very aware of the problem. I was told that this is not covered by Chevrolet and that I would have to pay around $90. 00 just for a diagnoses inspection and additional money for the repair.

21 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/04/2009

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado purchased pre-owned in 2009. While driving in reverse attempting to park the vehicle, he noticed that the driver's side door panel began smoking. Once the smoking ceased, he noticed that all of the electrical components on the door failed, including the power windows, mirror adjuster and power locks. The manufacturer was contacted and would not assume liability for any of the repairs. The current and failure mileages were under 65,000.

22 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2009

While driving my 2007 Silverado's electrical system seems to totally shutdown just for an instant. This last time on 10/15/09, the electrical system shutdown, then came back on. I parked it shortly after and discovered my electric locks didn't work so I tried staring it, but it was dead. Had to have local chevy dealer come jump it and I took it directly to the dealership to investigate. It happened again on the way there. Of course, they could not duplicate the problem and said truck checked out perfectly. Obviously something isn't right. I took it to a 2nd dealer the next and they said the same thing.

23 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2009

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the fuse box needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unavailable.

24 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/26/2008

On may 26 2008 my chevy Silverado wires caught on fire I was able to get it put out pretty quick with only a minor burn to my finger but gm does not want to admit there is a problem with the truck they cant say why it happened there trying to blame it on me I hope you can look into this so maybe if there is a problem with there trucks some one don't get hurt of die.

25 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/02/2008

I've had issues with my truck from the beginning. You can say it's a lemon I had the truck for less than a year and had to have the transmission repaired, radio doesn't work, window does work, back window slider doesn't work. All lights are going on. I should not have all this issues for this truck. That's why bought a new truck.
