general problems of the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado

Two problems related to tire have been reported for the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Tire problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2011

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with general ameritrak tires, size p245/70r17. The contact stated that the tread was wearing on all four replacement tires at 20,000 miles. The contact took the tires to the dealer who stated that since the warranty expired there was nothing they could do. The contact did not call the tire manufacturer regarding the failure. The contact was concerned about the safety issue. The failure mileage was 41,000.

2 Tire problem

Failure Date: 04/13/2008

We purchased this vehicle new from a dealer. The truck now has approx. 14,000 miles and the tires need to be replaced. After taking it to a mechanic I was told that this make has some issues that cause the tire to wear down on the inside. I should not have to replace the tires at 14,000 miles. Dealership gave answers like depends on driver, road conditions, etc. None of these explain the premature wear of this tire. I am not alone in this problem.
