Two problems related to dashboard crack have been reported for the 2008 Chevrolet Silverado. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Tl- the contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15v324000 (air bags). The contact stated that the vehicle was involved in a crash. The contact stated that while at the stop light, another vehicle that was driving at about 50 mph crashed into the rear of her vehicle. The air bag had not deployed. A police report was filed. The vehicle was driven home. Later, the contact stated that the dashboard had cracked about two to three inches in length. The vehicle mileage was 125,000. Bd.
My dash has several cracks in it around the passenger air bag. I am concerned that if the air bag is deployed that the defected dash will become sharp projectiles and cause undue injury to me or my passenger. I have seen many others with same problem and it is a safety concern to me.
