general problems of the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Passlock system engages without cause. When starting my truck, it acts like it will and then shuts down after a second, and then the security light comes on. This is common with past lock system errors. This happens about 1 out of 4 starts. To get the car started, I have to go through a reset process that takes over 30 min, which causes battery drain. This has left myself and family members stranded in unsafe situations several times. Most recently I was stuck on the side of the highway, after stopping to change a flat at 11pm. After not starting with these same symtoms, while trying to do the 30min. Relearn process, the battery did not have enough to start the truck. So I was then stuck there for 3 more hours waiting on a tow truck for a jump. I was stranded for over 3 1/2 hours. This issue has been happening for the last 2 years, and have spent about 4k dollars to try and fix it.

I have a 1999 Silverado 1500 I had the brake lines replaced in July 2014 because of corrosion. Then yesterday November 4th 2014 I had the truck to a shop getting tires put on and when they started to lift it the rear end started to sag. They let it down and noticed rust holes in the frame. This truck is not safe to drive and gm needs to post a recall on these problems!.

While coming down a hill to a red light, I applied my brakes and the brake went to the floor. As it went to the floor I heard a noise, turned my wheel to advoid hitting the car infront of me, I ran over a speed limit sign, only to miss a building by appling the parking break. I was only going 25mph. A cop behind me heard the pop and stop to see if we (me, my fiance and child) were alright. When I talk to my mechanic, he said there has been alot of reports of the break lines failing in the silverado. That most of his other clients that have had this problem call a chevy dealer and they either paid for the repairs or given up to $500 to the repairs. I call jba Chevrolet in glen burnie maryland, and they stated that they are unware of such a problem and refuse to look into or help in the repair. I have read of the concerns/reports of others and I am wondering why there is not a recall. Families are at risk. What actions can I and other drivers take? chevy should be held responsible.

Vehicle key ignition problem. Reason to my concern is that I'm be able to take the key out while it in drive or any other positions. To my concern that said key can potentially fall out during motion of vehicle from ignitions and can pose serious accidents if said vehicle was to turn off while in drive. Please consider evaluating this ordeal and come to a conclusion! for the sake of the citizens. God american!.

Major frame rust/rot and multiple breakage spots.
