Tl- the contact owns a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated the vehicle was parked when he noticed fuel was leaking from the fuel tank. The fuel leak was the result of rust and corrosion. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. 2 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 09/16/2007

Fuel gauge failure and false fuel level readings would lead to possible empty fuel tank, and being stranded away from services. Replacement of fuel gauge sensors at a high cost place on the owner of a manufacture defect in product or design.

3 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2006

My fuel gauge floats back and forth after the vehicle seats idle the fuel gauge will read empty and the low fuel warning light will come on. It does this even if the tank is full of fuel. This has been going on for several months.
