Brake Electric Antilock problems of the 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

The contact owns a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving various speeds, the antilock brake system activated automatically and the antilock brake system warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed, but was repaired by the contact who removed the antilock brake system sensor. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 160,000.

Help please. Anti lock brakes lock up or go to floor at low speed. Recall 05v379000 covers vehicles with this defect registered in cold weather states extending to maryland and d. C. I live in virginia, but have driven in covered areas, including maryland, pennsylvania, west virginia and d. C. My vehicle has a safety defect that has required a recall. It should not be excluded simply because it is registered on the other side of a state line.

Gm contacted and initially confirmed problem, now after two weeks they are denying any problem exist . . .

He had to continue to engage the brakes until the pedal extended normally. The dealer stated that the power steering pump needed to be replaced. The repair was performed a month ago and the failure continued to occur on a daily basis. During cold temperatures the failure didn't occur. The contact was aware of recall campaign# 05v379000 concerning service brakes: anti lock. The dealer informed him that this vehicle was not a part of the recall. Also, he stated that odi# 10158205 duplicatede the failure. He filed a complaint with gm and and was given case# 71-506187062. The failure mileage was 51,900. The dealer recently stated that they were unable to duplicate the failure. The current mileage was 52,200.

My submission pertains to campaign id number 05v37900. I would like to inform your office that the same problem occurs on guam as well as the other states you have mentioned in t the recall report. It occurs in both my vehicles 1999 GMC yukon 2002 Chevrolet silverado both of which I believe have recalls pertaining to the anti-lock brake system.
