When braking at low speeds, the abs system engages and the vehicle does not stop where intended. This delayed braking can cause rear ending of the car ahead of you or unintentionally entering an intersection. The technical bulletin put out by gm suggests that the cause may be due to rust and debris built up on the senor mounting surface and includes instructions for cleaning. My mechanic followed these instructions and they did not work. The only fix for this problem is to replace all four sensors for a cost of well over $1000. Gm recalled 2001 silverado's for the same problem but then continued to use the faulty senors in later models and did not recall the 2006. The internet is full of 2006 silverado owners complaining about this very dangerous problem.
