1 Tire problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2011

I purchased (4) nitto terra grappler at 265/70/17 tires about 2 months ago. Ever since I've had them I've been having a sliding problem. When I almost come to a complete stop the tires start sliding on dry and dirt free pavement and activates my abs. My abs sensors are not dirty. I've never had this problem with tires like I do with these. It can be dangerous and very surprising at times when I drive with this problem occurring. I sent the manufacturer a complaint email. But never got a response. My local dealer says it's a tire problem. Only thing I can do is disable the abs. But even if I do that it won't stop the sliding.

Neither the vehicle manufacturer nor the tire manufacturer were notified. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign id number 04t018000 (tires:tread/belt). Failure Date: 09/19/2007

5 Tire problem

Failure Date: 06/07/2006

I bought a 06 chevy silverado pickup in June 06. The truck has 1800 miles on it and it has a bad vibration at any speed over 30 mph. I have brought the truck back to the dealer 4 times and each time they rebalance the tires. The last time I was there they let 5 lbs of air out of each tire. They are now telling me that it is "the nature of the beast" and the tires have to get broke it before the vibration will stop. The truck has general ameritrac p245/70/r17 tires on it. I took the truck to a local tire dealer and was told that the tires are out of round and loping causing the vibration in the truck. The dealer keeps giving me the saying they are waiting for the Chevrolet factory rep to come there. I an afraid to drive the truck with this vibration as I am unable to walk and use a wheelchair and I don't want to be broke down someplace with this truck. What can I do to get this problem resolved?.

Failure Date: 04/08/2006

Haven't had an accident yet.

7 Tire problem

Failure Date: 04/02/2006

I have a brand new 2006 chevy silverado pickup and it came with p265/70r/17 goodyear wrangler st tires. At 2700 miles the right rear tire went flat while traveling on a paved road and at 5500 miles the left front tire went flat while traveling on a graveled road. Both tires had cuts in the center of the tires and were very similar. I complained to goodyear and they won't do anything about this unsafe tire.
