Stabilitrac light, traction control and also cracked dash board right by passenger airbag. Dash cracked 2 weeks after I bought truck.
My air bad light is on and my horn does not work. I called gm customer service. They said there was no recalls on my truck. She then told me I had to take my truck in to see if it has a recall. I ask her which is it, is there a recall or not? she said no recall but I had to go into service to see if there is a recall. There either is it isn't. I feel gm is trying to cover thier butts. Seems to me that they know of a problem but don't want to go public with it. I'm a 100% disabled veteran. I purchased this vehicle brand new 5 years ago, I only have 55k miles on my truck. I can't afford to pay for a problem with my truck especially if gm knows about it but refuses to own up to thier mistake.
The dash is cracking near the air bag. There is a concern of a safety hazard and there is a known issue of faulty dash.

I noticed yesterday that the service air bag warning came on. Didn't think anything of it. Got in there this morning 7/15 and was driving down the road and it did it again. This time all of the electrical went out for a minute including the speedometer. Couldnt even turn my ac on or off. Called the dealership we got it from and they told me I was looking at a 2 week wait but I could drop it off on 7/18 and they would get to it.

The contact owned a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the front driver and curtain air bags abruptly deployed while driving 55 to 60 mph in rainy weather. The contact lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the median. The contact suffered injuries to the knees and broken ribs, which required medical attention. The vehicle was destroyed. A police report was not filed. The manufacturer was not notified. The VIN was invalid. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000.
Dash cracked at right upper corner by passenger airbag which could possibly rip air bag upon deployment.

Things can get down in instrument cluster and cause a short which can lead to a fire. Vehicle can be sitting in a heated garage and it keeps getting worse.
