Air conditioner blowing hot air. Does not hold coolant when replaced or recharged.
The air conditioning condenser leaks at one of the side welds. This causes loss of air conditioning but also the defroster function so the interior windows fog over and it is difficult to see. This is a known issue (gm changed the condenser design in later years but did not issue a TSB). The cost to have this corrected is anywhere from $880-$1200 dollars depending on the dealer. It is also such a widespread problem that the replacement oem condenser is on backorder for several months.
Air conditioner stopped working. There was no support bracket on the hose and it caused it to crack. Replaced and then condenser went out. Known common problem on these trucks to where all the parts are back ordered.
Air conditioning stopped cooling over the course of just a few days, to the point of zero cooling. Refilled refrigerant, worked for about 3 days, then stopped again. Happened during all phases of driving, whether moving or stopped.
The ac compressor and condenser problems. The air conditioner stopped working in August 2019, to it to the shop and the recharged the unit. The air conditioner stopped blowing cold air a few days later. Took the truck in to get looked at again, was waiting for a recall notice and the air condenser is broken. There was a lawsuit for this same issue for my year of truck and they are saying im not in the group. It is going to cost almost $2000 to repair.
Air conditioner blowing hot air. Vehicle was in motion. I understand this is a common problem with silverados. Did research on line. Cost over $1000. 00 to repair. Condenser failure (leaking).
The air conditioning condenser suffered a crack and leaked refrigerant requiring the entire condenser to be replaced. This is a widespread issue with this make and model. Gm has offered extended warranty coverage on this defective part for other makes and models which use the exact same unit, however, they have refused to offer the same coverage to silverado owners. A lack of a/c in the gulf coast region results in extremely high indoor temperatures which pose health and safety risks. Alternative solutions require driving with windows down which pose safety hazards due to reduced awareness resulting from substantial wind noise when traveling at highway speeds.
Our air conditioning condenser went out after only owning the vehicle 3. 5 years and 70k miles. We bought it brand new. It is costing us $1100 to fix.
Air conditioning doesn't work. Add refrigent and it works for a day or two then stops again. No sign of a leak.
Air conditioner not working is have a licks.
It would roll even with the foot on the brake at low speeds faulty air pump had to get air pump, tube, air pump belt, alternator belt, air condition belt that cost me $700.
Air conditioning not working. Blowing hot due to worn hole in hose (thousands of known issues all with exactly the same symptoms and fixes. . . E x a c t l y!!!!!!) called chev, the guy said NHTSA tells them what to pay for and what to recall so they're hands are clean of this issue. Pardon????? worn hole? check bad condenser? check no bracket? check dealership/manufacturer participation? no way in hell! this is absolutely terrible business and there's no way the attorney general, the better business bureau and anyone else I can call are not going to hear about this. Oh yeah, the a/c never gets used, otherwise I would've had it fixed 20k miles ago under warranty but I didn't know it wasn't working. There's residue on the hoses from the leak which the dealership should've caught but they didn't. Maybe I go that route?.
Air conditioning on my 2015 Chevrolet silverado is only blowing warm air.
Air conditioning system stopped working only blows hot air. Called dealer about the problem after I learned this has been an ongoing problem. Chevy will not cover this problem under warranty. When I told them this was an ongoing problem starting with 2014 models I was told they never heard of this. I was all so told that because I don't have all my service work done with them they really don't feel they need to cut me a brake I would have to pay full price for repair. Dave mcdermott Chevrolet 655 main st east haven CT.
At about 60,000 miles I noticed my ac not working. I was told that it was going to be very costly to fix and a couple of dealerships near me would not get back to me about price and to to fix it, they told me its not under any warranty. They did tell me it would take 9 hours to fix-book time and the parts would be around $300+. Seems too early for the air conditioning unit to stop working I notice a smell inside the cab and it was from the evaporator coil leaking. This happened in mid spring and just now was told how to submit a complaint. I have not had it repaired yet due to cost and finding someone to do it.
The air conditioning does not blow cold. 2015 silverado with 55k. Do not hear the ac compressor kick in when ac button pushed. Hissing noise overheard when it does decide to work. Internet queries lead me to believe this is a known issue with 2014, 2015 silverado models and gm does not acknowledge.
My truck only has 42,000 miles on it. Over the course of 3 days I noticed the air conditioner go from blowing cold air to blowing warmer air until it no longer was cold. The dealer inspected the system and said the ac condenser needs to be replaced. Since it is out of warranty, it will cost approximately $1,300 to fix. The part is on backorder for at least 3 weeks. The current "feel like" temperature in florida is 106 degrees fahrenheit outside. That would be a long time to go without a/c without a loaner from the dealer, which the dealer did offer.
Air conditioner started blowing hot air. Took to dealer they found a weld broken loose on the top left corner of the condenser causing a leak. Currently gm condensers are on back order. Due to the overwhelming problem nationwide. They charge me to refill the system with freon (or equivalent), 24 hours later it has leaked out and is blowing hot air again. Dealer guessed 3 to 6 weeks before they would get the replacement part in. Truck has 68,000 miles with cost going to be $1300. 00. We also have a 2015 Chevrolet suburban with 74,000 miles on it that had the exact same problem. Cost $1300. 00 to fix.
