Paint failure.
Frame is rotted in three locations drivers side near gas tank it will not pass inspection I bought it used 2 years ago for my son to use for driving to college. I am very upset and will never buy another GMC /chevy vehicle again.
The frame for my 2015 chevy silverado truck failed inspection for excessive rust on the frame, all around it. It could not even be put on a lift. Other chevy silverados have been recalled for this rampant issue and yet not this particular model. It is not safe to drive, it's an expensive problem to fix and very unfair the chevy is not taking responsibility for it.
Wax coating is evaporating exposing bare metal on the frame. This is the oem coating and its failure will result premature degradation of the frame of the truck.
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that there was rust forming on the rear of the vehicle towards the wheel wells and near the rear doors. The contact noticed the rust had been spreading quickly. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic who stated that the rust seemed premature. Additionally, paint damage was noticed around the area that might have contributed to the rust. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 181,000.
This is a cosmetic complaint the paint is peeling.
Back window glass shattered when shutting drivers side door. Happened on the 26th of February 2022, illinois is still very cold in February, thankfully no passengers were in the back seat. Had to drive home very slow as not to drop glass on the highway. Found a program bulletin on the internet, bulletin 14815 from a customer satisfaction program that stated this could happen due to structurally weakened glass by gm. We contacted gm and they said our VIN # was not on a recall list. We contacted our insurance company and are waiting on a new glass to be installed. No warnings of any kind.
I’ve only owned my 2015 chevy Silverado 1500 for 8 months now and I’ve been noticing my paint starting to bubble and I popped one and water came pouring out I have also had to change my left rear turn signal twice my top light socket keeps melting and you can just buy a pig tail you have to get all three light sockets and they are 136. 89 and the sound in the truck don’t also work if the truck sits longer then 5 hours I have no sound and I’ve replaced battery already I also will get a clicking noise from under the steering wheel when the truck turns off it lasts from 1 min to 15 mins and stops thank you.
Water filtration from the shark antenna and rear third light, with possible short on a dash board and instrumental panel (already occurred more than once with no light on a instrumental panel and no function of the all gauges including speed gauge) the problem happened especially on rainy days on stationary vehicle and also in a driving conditions bolt city and highway time. The photo showing are only the recent but the problem happened several times before than now. This time was the worst ever.
Truck has 98,500 miles on it. Radiator is cracked and leaking, roof leaks when raining, electric power steering randomly jerks the wheel out of your hand and almost causes you to crash.
I am seeing extreme amount of clearcoat peeling all around vehicle. Appears to be specific to this vehicle paint process. Professional paint shop says poor paint job. Dealer won't help. Gm won't help. I see many others online that have same problem. My truck is in perfect condition. I own other gm cars with no problems. I want help from dealer to fix (college Chevrolet, albion, mi 49224).
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that there was a water leak coming from the driver’s side floor of the vehicle and extending to the rear driver’s side floor. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic however, the cause was of the failure was not found. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 34,000.
I own a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ltz in maroon red. I have noticed the clear coat throughout almost every panel of the truck is peeling in large bubbles. The hood is especially bad above the grill. Each door below the chrome strip along the lower kick plate is especially bad. Each wash of the vehicle makes it worse. Sadly, looking at each area, a small pit to the metal is visible; almost as if every rock chip/scratch is making it worse.
Noticed paint is flaking on passenger rear door next to the window now the other door on the drivers side is now peeling. Dealer will not fix problem due to truck being out of warranty by 3,000 miles.
I was driving my 2015 Silverado 1500 when my daughter in the backseat noticed that's something smell like it was burning, she told me and within 10 seconds I could smell the same thing and it smelled like electrical was burning. I could see smoke coming from behind her headrest so I pulled off the road immediately and got her out of the back seat and could see it was coming from either the slide window or the defroster so I jumped in the front seat and seen the rear defroster was on and shut that off and almost immediately following me shutting that off it sounded like a gunshot went off in my back seat and the rear driver side window exploded the only thing holding it together was the factory window tint. There is all kind of glass shards in the backseat from when it shattered. I had to have my wife pick up my daughter because she is too young to sit in the front seat. So I have to put tape over the window to hold it together until the dealership contacts me back.
Recall on braking system, reported to gm dealer, waited, drove vehicle while still on recall, dealership quoted that it will be okay, ( travel to med appointments) after several attempts, finally got it in, (its fixed), continued driving it, still having problems with braking, the pedal was jumping, OH! that's normal stated the technician, I continued driving, I called the dealer ship I bought the truck from, new in 2015, explained explain to them the problem im having, (said well bring it to the dealer ship near you, did that!) again nowhere, called the dealership and asked if they would look at it, well bring it in, tech took for a ride, that's what they normally do, vibrate like that , yah. Well frustrated as I was we continued to drive, to my med appointments, well, coming back stop at an establishment, as we were pulling in the truck wouldn't stop!, and I slid right into a mental pole, damaging the entire front of our truck, the force of the hit lunged both I and my wife forward at an abrupt stop! my wife sustain a neck and back injury, my left shoulder, report to ins, and property owner, my ins pay out for the damage. I reported this to the dealer ship, we'll have to schedule an appointment.
My paint is flaking away. Seems like every time I wash it the chips multiply. Chips cover the entire nody.
The wax coating on the frame is falling off and the frame has rust all over. This is a manufacturing defect that Chevrolet refuses to repair under warranty. This is a known problem throughout the silverado owners.
Weak paint, lots of peeling in random spots. Specifically around passenger windows. Dealerships have not been willing to help or file a complaint to gm, should not pay this much for a vehicle and this happen so quickly to the paint. I am scared to wash it, as it seems to make the issue worse.
Takata recall-I was in a wreck 12-24-2017 and I was hit from behind. The bed of my truck was hit so hard by a distracted driver while I was at a stop light, that it twisted up and hit the cab of the truck. My airbags never deployed and my seatbelt never locked up. I am severely injured and am still seeking treatment for my injuries. It was over $11,000 in damages. The truck now down shifts and it sounds likie the bottom is dropping out. It also shakes when at highway speed.
The paint is so cheap on this truck every time I look it it has a new chip and the roof is starting to crack and look horrible took it to chevy they say it's birds it's garage kept has 22000 miles on it I never really drive it's starting to look as bad as my 03 1500hd and it's a work truck.
Subject: allegations, herein, of safety concerns for, production years (2014 -2018) Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ltz71 and GMC sierra 1500 all terrain as; off road and trail performance capable vehicles. 1. GMC/Chevrolet advertises these vehicles, sab, as off road capable vehicles without restrictions. Further, company brochures for 2014-2018, enhance this advertising with quotes and pictures displaying as such. Note: owner's manuals for these vehicles do not address off road driving with the unsafe low design front end. 2. Allege, the silverado's low design front end, is inadequate for off road driving and highly susceptible to damage, causing impacts resulting in loss of vehicle control and an occupant safety concern. Upon my traversing on uneven ground, results in the low design front end (air damper, bumper, and grille) digging in and causing loss of vehicle control as well as significant damage, even at crawl speeds. The low front end (pics attached) acts as a cattle catcher, snow plow and in deep mud and snow, a jack suspending the vehicle on the frame making the design hazardous. 3. To confirm my allegations, request review of the sale of all front end replacement parts for, 2014-2018 production years. 4. I also allege that advertising, as an off road and trail performance capable vehicle is fraudulent as it conveys the z71 4x4 vehicles as safe for off road use, without restrictions, nor cautions the occupants of the low front end design that is susceptible to damage and costly repair, nor cautions the occupants of the potential for impact and loss of control (redirect) of the vehicle if damage occurs. 5. My truck has been modififed by either a powerful entity or by the dealership itself at the direction of a powerful entity. Truck has so many problems. I bought from same dealership out of show room and trusted them. After accident, air bags did not deploy and I couldnt figure out why. See burn marks around edges of airbags along with conductive string sew into them. Also noticed extra conductors added along with extra insulator layer. Cigarette outlets all manipulated after replaced with higher output plugs. Also found air bag sensors which are discontinuted as they belong to trucks from 2007-2009. Frame is for a 1ton truck which has beengreased front to back. Axels are clearly older and are labeled for a ck2500 (1 tom) model drive shaft and many other components have markings throughout to establish path of least resistance to guide short of electricity to driver to shock me. Modles modfified to gain access to truck. I am lucky to be alive. You guys have to see this truck in person. Way too uch to list. Dealership had it long time to do repairs. When taken back to them to figure out hwy the loud shakes, the dealershp certified shop tech stated everything is perfectl normal. That wa s a lie. Eewwdduuuuuuuuuuuuuefu.
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed that the rear bumper rubber had melted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v007000 (engine and engine cooling). The failure mileage was 25,813.
Air bag deployment.
Three times at dealer for water leaking on passenger floor, just went over my three year bumper to bumper warranty, after third attempt,I dont know how much damage to eletrical system, leaks when washing or raining.
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that water penetrated the front passenger floorboard when it rained or when the vehicle was taken through a car wash. The vehicle was taken to the Chevrolet dealer (located at 128 derby street hingham, MA 02043 phone (781) 749-1950) several times for the failure. The dealer replaced the passenger door seal; however, the failure was not corrected and water continued to penetrate the front passenger floorboard. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 32,235.
Upon purchasing a new 2015 silverado my factory paint started pealing around the rear doors approx. 1 year after owning the truck. Upon first sight of the pealing paint I took the truck back to the gm dealer and pointed out the 2 rear doors and the flaking paint. They told me that since I was out of bumper to bumper warranty coverage and over the 36,000 mile warranty they couldn't do anything for me. The issue was getting worse so I took it back again and this time I went through gm corp. And they offered to give me a discount on the paint job to fix the issue. I'm sorry but a discount on a factory problem is not acceptable. . . . Especially if its going to cost me $2,000 of my own money to fix a gm problem!!!!.
The paint is horrible. Chipping and flaking off of the truck.
