The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 mph, there was smoke and an abnormal sound coming from the rear of the vehicle; and the rear window cracked. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the residence and was not diagnosed. The contact researched and was made aware of an undisclosed recall; however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.
